Shock oil is something that I have tuned with. I know I will back into these shocks after some tuning trail runs, but experience is tell me to start with 45w in all four with the stock springs.

Before adding oil, make sure that you have applied grease to the two rubber washers at the bottom of the shock. The OG himself, Brad "Bender" Dumont taught me this and I never forget it. I contribute this to why my shocks don't leak.


Expirementing with rod ends helps fine tuning the placement of the shock.


Some drivers add just enough oil to lube the shock shaft, I fill and burp mine. Does this help? I drive better when knowing that there is oil in my shocks, so yes, it helps me. Depending on the weight of my truck, depends on the shock oil weight I use.

I spent 45mins looking for parts, ate some homemade Kale chips, and lost a pot? I found the parts still on the parts tree, imagine that.


I forgot I went pee and "WOW" I found the pot. When multi-tasking goes wrong.

Winch mounting in progress.

Pretty straight forward winch set up:

-3Racing minus control board

-Novak Eiger Pro ESC controls the winch.

-360lb kevlar mix kite string for winch rope. (It looks real and works great wet or dry.)

3s Lipo powers the winch.

MT4 controls it with the lever for variable speed. "thumbsup"

I can't break this scale fever that I have. So why fight it. I added roll bar padding to the driver and passenger compartments.

Materials

- $ store foam padding.
- E 6000
- electrical tape
- Monster Energy drink (optional and can be substituted w/ beverage of your choice. )


Tools

- Scissors
- Pen
- Sand Ramp
- a finger

Directions

- I cut the foam to fit the diameter of the roll bar.
- I smeared some E 6000 on the foam and wrapped the bar. Making sure the seam is where I wanted it.
- Add a thin film of E 6000 to the edges with your finger, ensuring the edges stay together, put a piece of electrical tape to hold the edges until the E 6000 dries.
- Repeat this for the areas you want to add padding.
- Slowly remove electrical tape and "Wha-Lah" Your driver and passenger won't being seeing stars or have to sit out of a football game because of a concussion.

I was having issues with the fuel cell filler hose. I just wasn't feeling it, so the cool thing about the scale hobby and building, is there is no really wrong way to do anything.

There will be building snafu's and re-do's and scale item fu-fu's, but that's all part of it.

I did a little digging in the spare parts bins and found some plastic thing that the fuel line fit in...Cool! So I reamed the hole out to accommodate this plastic dohicky thing. It worked like a champ.


But now I'm back to my original dilemma, the fill part and how to mount it.

So back to spare parts bin that now I call the parts with no name. I found some rod end looking contraption that screamed; "I AM A FUEL LINE FILLER MOUNT, OH AWESOME BUILDER"!

Ok, so that might not be exactly what it said, but it sounded like it.


I reamed out the eye to accept the fuel line. I then reamed a quick hole and mounted it to the bed area.

Here is the finished mods. I am happy with it.


Cool thing is, it works. Whatever you put in it, will just leak out, but it is a functioning scale item!!!!

Any suggestions what to use for a gas cap?????

Scale items are one of the biggest personal mods that anyone can do to his or her G-Ride / Scaler.

The Axial Jeep Wrangler G6 wears a name tag of "Adventure". That adventure can come in many forms. It seems currently, I am being challenged by unkown and unseen forces.

These forces are shoving me "waaaaaay" outside my comfort zone, but hey, if Oscar Myer was just a hot dog, it wouldn't have a first and last name.

I had mentioned to War Pig and Rivas Concepts that I wanted to test my skills with polystyrene, just to see what their reaction would be. WOW! Both had the utmost confidence in me. (I think).

I want to put a "bed" in the Wrangler G6. A recessed area in the back so that my scale items, look scale in the Jeep.

I began with nothing more than a dream with no means. Cut the hole, sukka!


When I comped, I never rolled uncut tires. I didn't do drugs, I did Dremel. Hell, Even Losi was so impressed with Parker Sipes, their second gen of comp claws came with with them molded in. I cleaned up the hole with my tool of choice.


Well, now what????

Styrene? Nope. I am not ready yet. My balls turned to styrene. I am counting on common sense and my back woods engineering.

Stay tuned....This may go horribly wrong. ;-)

I found an old servo box. This may just work.

Perfect!

The lid of the servo box is exactly what I need.

What you see next is luck in motion. I have heard, some would rather be lucky than good.

Do Work, Lil' Builder Boy!

I test fit the lid and added to body mounts. The body mounts filled the "test" holes that I reamed when mounting the body, but will serve double duty. I can bolt the lid in, use the body posts for more surface area to apply E 6000 to and use them in the cab area to mount more scale goodies to.



With the lid cut to fit and the two part mounting system dialed in, it was time to prep the paint booth. "thumbsup"


Spill some paint, flat black of course.

We are getting close to recessed bed blessness!

Bolted it into place.


Centered it and tested it.




WARNING: DO NOT INHALE, INGEST, or USE AS A "LOTION" FOR ANY DRY EXPANDING AND CONTRACTING AREAS OF THE BODY.

E 6000 everything into place and wait.




This is by far, my most advanced scale building accomplishment to date. I was freaking out, but that is part of the fun.

Like I was taught, measure 3x and cut once. It's impossible to think about everything that may go wrong or right, but have a plan, roll with whatever your building partner, "Mr. Murphy" throws at you, and HAVE FUN!
