Do not ever ever buy a redcat product unless you like paper weights

:shock:REALLY:shock:......that was my actual thought when I first read this.

and I will admit, my first crawler was a RS10, (actually bought 2, for me and my son) but I bought them because they were cheap rigs, that would allow us to somewhat decide if we were gonna like/enjoy RC crawling.

I did my research, new they were cheap, and new what parts would interchange, and what the weak links were before purchasing them.

and I built a fully custom rig for myself, using only the axles themselves, that I truly enjoyed crawling with until I sold it.

I now have over a dozen scale crawlers, but I have still yet to spend anywhere near the amount of money that you have spent in the last 7 months on my complete collection....just saying.....the classifieds here are full of great deals ( I have never bought a new rig ever) from even greater guys and gals. that are more than willing to help anyone, whether a noobie or a veteran, if you'll just be polite and ask.

just my $0.02

$4,500 in 7 months works out to almost $650 a month.............to me that's just hard for me to even comprehend, makes my head:oops:hurt to think about it even. that's more than my mortgage payment, and I live in a fairly nice home.

You must live in the states ?
Yeah I've spent a couple bonuses amd always thought new was better as you at least know it wasn't beat up on and yu are not buying garbage. And I ask if you love in the states as up here in northern Canada where I live you have to have a high income just to survive as it is very expensive here. my monthly mortgage is $1400 a month and my house is nothing fancy it's nice and got lots but not any where near what is around here. Last two weeks I've boughten $2000 those two gassers the shitty redcat one $900 and that really nice Losi I bought last night $1150 and my problem is I make good coin and once everything else is paid for I can't help myself as I grew up very poor and so always had nothing and for the first time in my life the last few greats I'm making more then I know what to do with. So I get a little stupid apperantly sometimes is all and when the local shop has almost all redcat it was all I knew. And yeah someone mentioned about Loki g more thought the classifieds yesturday as a money saver and was already eyeing up a axial roller. I'm getting with the program just doing it the hard way apparently.

so basicly , want to sell some of the hotwheels in the first pic ?

I've been trying to sells massive HOTWHEELS collection for also two years now all I get is low ballers and window shoppers. I have a huge collection and have had them for years. And was only trying to sell as a whole lot but not many people wanna spend $5000 in one go on a HOTWHEELS collection.
That's why all the boxes are gettin split open and sold piece by piece on eBay right now as I've just started into the first of many boxes and containers. Why you collect ? I'm very motivated t sell right now as the 10 plus boxes and rubber maid containers are taking up half my rc shop. Id sell my $5000 collection for as low as $2000 and eat the loss to make room and buy a quality crawler or even trade.

I'm really not sure why some people talk out their a¥# so much either, can you please explain in detail how and why.

I actually do know a little something about aluminum and its manufacturing and that the properties of said aluminum play a huge roll in its performance and stability.... That said "Japanese" knockoff -- may be assembled in Japan but I would almost guarantee that the separate components are not produced in japan. They like most other countries purchase lots of their aluminum from outside countries, like Taiwan and China, or for the good quality aluminum Russia or even UAE. They do produce great steel but not NEARLY as much on the aluminum. So keep talking about what you think you know and I'm sure it will get you real far on a site with more experienced people who have more knowledge than I can shake a stick at.

As for it fitting Baja parts it may, I don't know, but IMO you're contradicting yourself when you say you didn't want a project, yet you bought a lesser quality unit to upgrade using the higher quality parts? I understand you won't replace some of them until the time comes when they break or twist or whatever, but isn't this still somewhat of a project if you're intending on upgrading it? If that's the case why not just buy the RTR 5b or 5t and be done you could have saved some annoyance and been running it all weekend instead of fighting with a crappy rc company.

WOW, I'm not quite sure why you are seeing what I said as being mean towards you. I stated an opinion based on observation, I don't know you or your health issues and in no way was I belittling you or attacking you. So how is someone supposed to know that you have an issue?
Oh I know by reading a post on an RC forum, making a comment and then you jumping back for no good reason and only exacerbating the issue even more, or would it have been easier by you responding with something more along the lines of, ......yeah I know its a mess but my dyslexia has a tendency to create typing issues for me. But thanks for the heads up...............

Instead we get intertard harda€£ syndrome! but I guess I shouldn't expect much more from someone who seems to take everything at face value. I'm also sure that having internet harda33 syndrome may be fine elsewhere, but it will get you no where on here so you may want to watch that as you'd getting eaten up outside the NEWB section.

This ones just for good measure so you can see I'm not the only one who saw no wrong in my previous post. Thanks Johnny I meant no harm in my statement.

Rut roo scooby, I just noticed were now in big boy land -- chit chat -- I can't wait to see where this goes now....

I cannot find sympathy for someone with that much to spend on toys to then be unhappy with the toy.

You epitomize the spoiled American.

Lol that's funny shit I'm not American I'm not spoiled I've always been poor up until the last two years on my life and now am seeing what it's like to have things. I just chose to buy garbage items because did not know any other. and was spending way way to much for almost no run time. Once they are gone and got good RC's ill always be happy with them.

british slang i guess it means to sell.

my version of flog is to take something out and really put it through its paces. "thumbsup"

Damn. :ror:

I spend way to much money on this stuff - but you're right, that's nuts.

Where I come for fogging means like buddy with the pic that nasty whip of the other meaning flogging something off as selling it quick.
And yes I went to the dirt bike track last night after I got it ready and spent two hrs running and bashing that Losi and wow not one issue or complaint. Rolled crashed jumped bashed and she came back in the same condition as I sent her out. Am very impressed with the quality. As all that redcat gasser did was die after driving a few slow laps. Lol.

And yeah someone mentioned about Loki...

I'm headin downto the dunes tonight and gonna start taking jumps until I snap something I wanna see the weak points. And just how high she can go.

So if I was to buy an rc off the classifieds used which scares me buying used. What system is in place if some one sells me broken or no good items and I'm stuck with there garbage and can't send it back ?
Is there a way to make sure this does not happen cuz pics don't mean shit half the time.
Had a guy try to use an old pic to sell me his ride and I get there and it must of been the pic from when he bought it cuz it did not look anything like the pic.
