Deep thoughts

^^I met one a few weeks back. Hell, I thought that shit was made up. But nope, this dude really believed it. I was with some other people that knew him, so I didn't make a big deal of it, but I realized pretty quickly that I can't even talk to this dumbass, we literally have nothing in common. He was pretty good entertainment after a couple of beers.

It seems perfectly understandable how such a belief could have existed to the less intuitive back when no one had actually seen the planet and known for certain that it is in fact round. To still hold on to such a draconian myth as a belief is nothing short of abject denial or blind, unthinking trust...or maybe both.

That's kind of my point. I don't understand how someone today could believe something that was proven wrong thousands of years ago. And you can still prove it yourself today, just like they did.

:lmao:

Its shocking to know that there are people that believe so.
Just few months back some guy built and launched himself in a rocket to prove the earth is flat.

there are some rumors that this guy doesn't really believe in flat earth, just that flat earthers are the perfect way to fund his rocket passion :ror:

Respectable age and work, but the reason was not right.

My most humble apologies... I think this subject should have gone into the "WTF" thread...

But, were here, so lets keep pulling that thread...

Earth's gravity is a constant 9.8 meters per second squared, or 9.8 m/s2, but flat Earthers say that gravity isn't real, and that the reason we "stick" to the ground is because the flat earth is moving upwards at a rate of 9.8 meters per second. First off, we all know from riding in a car that if this speed were constant, we would basically feel like we were weightless because we are going the same speed as the earth. If there theory were to be correct, the earth would have to be constantly accelerating at 9.8 meters per second. Which begs another question, if the earth is always moving upwards at 9.8 meters per second, where is it coming from, and where is it going?

Talk about deep thoughts...

Finally, this group's mantra is "We're not crazy", I think a more appropriate mantra would be "We're not smart".

Next up... "Electronic Theory"- Why is it still a theory...

All appropriate here, I should think. "thumbsup"

Don't we still debate over the direction of current flow? It's a discussion I've found myself caught in over the years. Maybe it equates to why they still refer to the art of medicine as a "practice".

Indeed, is it electron flow, or is it hole flow? But, the shite works no matter what, and everything else is pretty much fact, so give this issue a pass, for now and start calling it 'electrics fact' instead of 'theory'... Just my 2 cents here... "thumbsup"

I'm not smart enough to do the math, but I'm fairly sure that a constant acceleration of 9.8ms over thousands or millions of years would put us near or past the speed of light.

Reminds me of tech school where the training block for every avionic system started with "theory of operation". I always had to wonder...don't they know how it works??

Why is it called "KY Jelly"?

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to call it "KY Jam"? After all, that is what it is used for...

If peanut butter cookies are made from peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin cookies are made from oatmeal and raisins, then what are Girl Scout cookies made of?
What is Baby oil made of?

Baby oil is usually 98% mineral oil and 2% fragrance.
