Crawl Spec Retrac - Bully Style

Is that Delrin Steven? You think that'll stand up to the big truck?

Yes. And we will find out. Made out of the same 1/4" thick plate I used on my other wheels. If I have trouble with the material, I may try nylon for its more forgiving properties.

At 1/4" they should hold up fairly well to all but the biggest tumbles. The spokes are pretty small though. They look great "thumbsup"

Great looking rig and wheels as always, have missed you at the comps, just not the same with some of the faces missing. (not that it is bad, just not the same ;-)) Hope to see you this weekend buddy! "thumbsup" "thumbsup"

OK I'm hooked now!! and this has made up my mind to build my wheels! But..............I need some tutelage on how to build them!? I have all the tools necessary I believe. I love the looks of the 6-6.5" wheel!

Did some updates for 2013.

I cut this chassis before nationals last year, but didn't have enough time to install it until last week. The new chassis is carbon fiber and allows for axle mounted shocks. It still needs some tuning and clean up the wiring/battery location, but it seems to feel more predictable than the previous chassis that had the shocks mounted to the lower links.

I put Axial bent rods on top and bottom of the shocks to keep them from binding. I had never done the 'rod end shock cap mod' to my shocks before and it was so simple, I can't believe I haven't tried it yet. Only took about 20 minutes to complete the set of 4.

Picked up some of DLux's sweet delrin tubes and started designing some more parts for this thing.

I got the RC4WD lightweight knuckles, but don't really like how much material I will have to remove to get them to work. So....I'm just going to make my own knuckles. Pic shown is the current prototype. The horizontal plates will be carbon fiber for the final version. I have always had issues with bending the screw that hold the steering linkages on the servo side, so this is getting double shear for the lower connecting linkage. Should relieve enough stress to keep the top (servo) linkage in single shear and not bend the screw.

Also working on a simple servo mount to work with the new tubes. Nothing special for this thing, just a cf plate to bolt to the top of the tube.
