Hey GOMMERS, I've read this thread from start to finish, and there's a lot of great info. I'm expecting my GOM kit to be delivered sometime this week, and I can't wait. It seems like there are solutions to most of the "design flaws", and I plan on applying all the ones that make sense during my build. I had an R1 kit, and was very happy with the build and overall quality. Some tedious assembly (a lot of f-in screws and nuts for the body panels), but it went together well, and had some very cool unique concepts. I've built a number of kits; most of which were racing buggies and touring cars, and they all had their issues and weak points. I currently have a couple of Axials, and out of the box they needed upgrades to help with turning radius and overall durability. There is no such thing as a perfect kit, but in my experience and from what I've read in this thread, the GOM kit seems every bit as good as the rest, and looks way more bad-ass! "thumbsup"
I guess the upgrades and fixes comes with the territory...you play hard with toy cars, they eventually break. What GMade offers for me is unique design and engineering. Good or bad, they are different, and I like that. Anyways, can't wait to get this beast, and if I come across any other ways to address design weaknesses, I'll share. My kids always tell me "sharing is caring" LOL.
