colorado springs weekly comps/trail runs?

Did a little trail running here yesterday and some mild rock crawling to keep me occupied, today I was bored so I added a few details to the old Honcho. Installed a couple of scale pieces I had kicking around (screwed on from underneath so I don't loose them), primered a couple body panels (since Tony said I needed a new paint job...lol) and added a open driver's side window. I may add the interior kit one of these days.

I will be ordering the first batch of shirts Sunday. Anyone that wants a hoodie I will need the money up front for a special order $20 a piece. I was thinking a grey hoodie with just the logo on the back to make them cheaper. You guys have my number. Let me know.

Who's up for a new location to explore this Sunday. I'm gonna go over and check it out Saturday and see if the area isn't too fried from the fires. There is a ton of cool rocks up there. Name of the place is "hole in the wall" Hole in the Wall
Fieldstone Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80919

Any words on the Sunday hangout spot? Kid friendly? Hope it's not like pulpit rock.....blah

Dido on Pulpit Rock ... coming from the rock crawlers arena, simple trail runs just dont push my scaling needs button. With that said, so I dont get any hate mail, to each their own and if some members injoy that type of scaling then the club should choose such places periodically and those of us who dont care much for such trail runs can always decide not to attend. Can't please everybody all the time and I'm ok with that even if I'm one of them. S***, I've got to lay off the coffee, I'm rambling now. 8)

Me and Mike are coming up with some ideas for spots from our past mountain escapades...these spots will require a little walking on trails to the get to the "fun" stuff. I'm gonna go look at some of the spots today and see what the snow coverage looks like. They will be awesome during the summer, but now might be a different story.

Tony, I went an looked at the drop pin and it's a No GO in my eyes...no real parking , no trail or trail head in sight...very close to a fenced off area with a big NO trespassing sign and it's black and toasted. It does look like a killer area tho especially before the fire. Go check it and let me know if you disagree.

The group has a vast range of vehicles that will never be completely pleased with Sunday runs, but we try to accommodate everyone with Crawlers or Scale rigs....TRY lol

That's also a good excuse to have more than one rig!

scaler & crawler

It's good to try and alternate to try and keep everyone happy. "thumbsup"

oh, i was only complaining that I personally dont like pulpit rock when I have Daxten with me.....I never made it to the top so I have no idea if its any good. I assume it is since other like to go there.

I'm not complaining about crawling vs trailing like Marshall (HAHA - Kidding), I was just curious whats on the menu for Sunday and if nothing was planned yet, maybe we could go somewhere I could bring the little guy. I wasnt able to bring him out last week so I wanted to bring him this week. We can go to PP and fart around if you guys want to hit the hard stuff - matters not to me. Flexibility is the key to Happiness - among other things....

Understood on the concerns guys. We try to mix it up as much as we can every week. We have run every open space inside the city and it's time we do a little more exploring on the edges of town to find good comp areas we won't get hassled by the man. This area I want to explore this weekend is not going to be like our plush parks in town that most of us are use too. These are all rocks with very little trail maintenance right at the edge of the burn area. We are going to be stepping out of our comfort zone at least once a month to go exploring. So this crawl is not meant to be a leisure hike but more of a Lewis and Clark expedition. Next week we will get back to park crawls until our next adventure. But this will help keep the more seasoned members interested in the extreme side as well. Trying to please everyone.
