colorado springs weekly comps/trail runs?

Where at in garden of the gods do you start your runs? I work by the Air Force academy, would be great to take a long lunch one day and get some runs in. :)
Thanks!

there are tons of fun spots in GOG.....

spring canyon trail head (west from parking lot), near balanced rock (to the south), "giant steps" (west from kissing camels), and generally anywhere away from the main rock formations, park rangers are mostly cool about it, but there are some folks that wouldn't/don't appreciate RCs in the park too much. "thumbsup"

Stupid axial motors. Was running around a little in the yard and it started smoking real bad. Anyone have that issue before? Axial is sending a new motor. But I went ahead and bought the tekin 35t pro motor and esc. Any points of concern?

Yeah. Anything from axial has issues with loose screws and minor tweaks. Usually I find that if the pinion gear is too tight to the spur gear the motor has to work harder because it binds a little. Some guys have good luck with stock axial motors while others like myself have burned a couple even though I was carful seating the motor to the tranny. My best advice is to invest in a brushless system. A lot less hassles with a lot more options.

I was thinking about brushless as well. I had a scx10 before and I ran the crap out of it. Even with 2.2 tires it held up amazingly. But this one just crapped out for some reason. I hope the tekin does better.

Yeah I took my sons jk and threw 2.2 tires on it then the upper and lower links got too weak then I replaced them then it kept flipping over so I bought spacers to widen it then I had to put 103mm shocks for the clearance issue. Then I blew out the tranny from all the extra crap I did for the 2.2 tires. Now the front end needs replaced and the servo is going out. It's a cascading affect when you decide to install 2.2tires on a. Scx10 for sure.

Tekin Pro4 or the Tekin Roc412 Are the way I would go. Just look at Cody and I's. A hell of a lot of fun and awesome crawling ability. Just my .02.

Great set ups both you guys have, but you have metal axles to tame that power. Too much power equals a hell of a lot of upgrades to keep the rest from exploding.

This is true there is a lot of upgrades in our rigs. That's a choice you have to make though. You want that power you gotta do the upgrades. Hence the reason there is over $5000 between those two rigs. But even the one you have Tony seems to do pretty damn good as well. Plus its cheaper than the Tekin.

I ordered the lower links as well. I could tell they were getting weak. So I just ordered them. Along with the metal steering set up. Hopefully the tranny and axles can hold up. If not then it's back to the Internet to spend more money. :)

Never had a problem with the stock 27t in my jk. But it is true that parts wear out faster when you start upgrading. Just installed the Tekin roc412 and castle creations mamba max pro in my jk. Very good setup in my opinion, esc has multiple tuning options for your driving style"thumbsup"
