This is going to be a busy weekend

edit:

What is everyone replacing their motors with in the trucks? If it turns out to be my motor instead of the slipper clutch, I need to track one down before the weekend.

Try running them!

I put the Castle Creations SC system in mine, the one with the sidewinder ESC.

How is that ESC different from their Sidewinder ESC's? I'm swapping the BR-XL in my trophy truck now, for the older Sidewinder in my SCX-10. I figured I could go brushless in the future if I had to, and wanted the BR-XL in the scaler. Can I just put the Castle motor in or do I need that specific ESC to go with it?

The castle site is giving me the big red X for the SCT motor and my Sidewinder...Why is that? Any other brushless recommendations for the Sidewinder? I don't really want to buy a new ESC if I don't need it.

I would love to join your guys' comp but is it too late? I also didn't see a class for 1/12th scale, does anyone run traxxas rallies.

I actually don't think the SCT ESC is as good as a regular sidewinder, seems to be deprogramed a bit. The esc should be able to run most BL motors and the motor should be able to run on most ESC's. A Traxxas brushless motor should work fine in the TT as well. Personally I think anything under 4000KV should be fine in the TT.

You are welcome to come on out and race with us. We currently don't run a 1/12th rally class though. The two big classes we race are 1/10th open rally and Open HPI Mini Trophy truck. The rules for these classes are in the first post.

I looked into it some more tonight, and the TT motor is toast. Going to look for a replacement tomorrow (no time to order) so keep your fingers crossed for me.

Either way, I'll be there with the rally car. I adjusted the front diff and it's smooth now. I know PapaGrizz doesn't read here much anymore, but I'm bringing the car into work tomorrow for some much needed practice.

So is there a location and time yet? I'd like to start early if possible. I have a bunch of things to take care of in the afternoon.

after rubba cleans house again with his xxx-s....i have one that could be removed from my possession for a good trade or something (bike parts get first dibs)
