Colorado Rally Championship 2012

Yep we are doing it. With the success of all the events we have had at HOON 470 we are going to pursue a series (CRC) that travels to at least 4 different track locations. The Series will consist of 6 events over the coming months with one event being dropped from the series points total.

Rules

1/10th Scale Open Rally Class
This class was created to mimic vehicles that would be seen in the WRC and Rally America events, This class is not for Dakar style SUVs or off road trucks.
-Must be 10th scale and use a 190mm or 200mm Sedan or hatch back car body.
-Electric only!
-Tire must be 100% inside of body wheel openings
- Tires must be existing 1.9 car rally tires (such as Associated, HPI, Duratrax, Academy or Tamiya).
-All power, motor, ESC and steering systems are allowed.
-2 wheel or 4 wheel drive is allowed.
-No more then 3/4" of belly clearance is allowed.

The only tires that are allowed are listed here:
-Tamiya Rally block (#50476)
-HPI rally tire (#4470)
-HPI Pirelli T (#4467, #4468 )
-HPI X-pattern (#4490)
-HPI V Groove Super Radials (#4540)
-MRC Academy rally block tires
-Kyosho OEM rally tire
-Hardcore racing Adrenalin rally block tires

Mini Trophy Truck Class
The purpose of the class is to appear scale and stock to a HPI Mini Trophy Truck
-Must be a HPI Mini Trophy Truck with stock wheel base, including track width.
- Electric only!
-Vehicle must appear to be in stock form, I.E. ride height, body and full cage.
-The only body modifications that are allowed would be to remove windows and add lights, no other body modifications are allowed.
-Wheels must be 1.9 inches in size.
-Tires must be stock.
- Tires are not to exceed the width of the body.
-All suspension and drivetrain modifications are allowed. Including adding dual shocks, locking diffs, etc.
-All power, motor, ESC and steering systems are allowed.

Dakar/truck class
This class is for 10th -12th scale off road trucks and SUVs, such as (but not limited too) Cayenne(df01), Racing Lancer(df01), Tourag(cc01), F-150(ta02), Hummer.
-Motors are limited to 20 turns and up too 7.4 volt batteries.
-Tires and wheels are limited to 1.9” wheels and a max tire size of 4.0”.
-Tires and wheels must be inside of the bodies existing wheel wells.
-Independent suspension is recommended, but not required.

1/8th scale Open Rally Class
This class is a larger scale of the 1/10th open rally class.
This class will be limited too the HPI WR8 and Kyosho DRX Rally
-Electric only!
-The details of this class will be worked out as the WR8 is released

Track types
Several of the tracks will be single position driving with several laps of the circuit against another driver in a double elimination bracket. The tracks will be 18-40" wide in some locations. Other races will be 8-10 car grid formatting on larger tracks in the Denver area. Tracks range from Longmont to Colorado Springs with the focus being in the Denver area. Most tracks will consist of loose dirt conditions, while others may be blue groove or Tarmac. Come prepared!

We will not be racing for money, however to pay for individual track decals, numbers and trophies we will gladly except donations to help support these items.

Can I use 344 or will that cause a potential problem with Rodney's # 34? I could run 971 if there might be an issue. I'll run open rally and eventually mini-trophy.

Think I'll put a target on the sides and rear end of my Lancer for you Subi drivers.

i would love to try to make these! im in the middle of packing to move - but this would be well worth unpacking a box or two to run!

The [HILLBILIGAN]/Holmes Hobbies/RCCrawler CRC Focus
and the [HILLBILIGAN]/RCShortcourse/Monster Energy Mini Trophy are both ready for the series. "thumbsup" Can't wait for this.

I'll see if I have enough to get my Hummer going for the Dakar class.
