Classifieds??

honestly, this is the only site i'm on that has the 30/30 rule. and although i've never been scammed on any of the forums i am on and have bought, sold and traded thousands of dollars worth of stuff, i completely agree with it.
i feel that it truly gives a seller/buyer a little more comfort knowing that they are dealing with someone that has been here for a bit and more than likely personally knows a few people on here.

Glad I found this thread, it answered a lot of questions for me about the classifieds.

Just this month, a hobby store opened down the street from me and I wandered in and it has re-ignited my interest in RC. I've been out of the hobby for probably over 5 years, but I still have a modded out Jugg 2, an E-maxx, an AE B4, Tamiya Hummer and Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin. I feel like I'm leaving something out. Anyway, all run but the Jugg. Seeing what is on the shelf now is incredible and I think I want to get back into it and get a scaler. So I've been reading up on all I can and this site has a ton of info.

Not quite ready to buy something yet. Gonna have to save up and learn more, so I'm not sure if I will try and do the 30/30 or buy a star when I get closer, but it would be nice to buy a used scaler over a new one.

I am on a bunch of other forums (mostly food and grilling, but have been on Jeep ones and offroad ones and even RCMT way back in the day), so I know how they work. Hopefully I can find ways to contribute. I don't want to build a count number by saying cool truck and stuff. I usually don't speak up unless I have something to contribute. Anyway, I rambled on. Cool site and glad to be here.

Hey there, sort of a similar story for me too. I have a classic lunchbox I got when I was 7 that was later converted to a pumpkin. I stumbled on this site and started RC fiending shortly after :)

I was thinking of getting a used scaler myself but I think I'm gonna do a dingo build this winter instead. You'd probably enjoy a kit since you could pull parts from your other RC's and dial it in just right. Plus, scalers look real nice when you finish them. Then you can take a bunch of pics before you beat em' up

Going to go the 30/30 route for now, but I'll likely buy me star down the line.

Same goes for me and if nobody else sees the need for it I don't see why we need to here? I can see the logic behind it, but if they're worried about scammers why not just limit us newbies to no selling for a while? I mean if your new then chances are you're looking to buy stuff right? At least let us have a look

But its an awesome site so I'm not too bothered "thumbsup" and yeah for $20 its not asking too much is it?

Scamming is the real reason we have the 30/30 limits. It keeps people from popping in and "selling". Creates a tighter nit community all together.

You can also attach pics to the forum and get an avatar when you get a star. That was the big one for me when I first got a star.

I understand and support 30/30 if it was just that, but when you can buy a star and get around it it sounds a lot more like a way to get money. Scammers who are out to cheat people will look upon 20$ as an investment and be even more incited to cheat to get their "investment" back.

I think its a good rule. This is coming from a noob who cant see the classifieds yet. Most forums do let people start buying/selling right away, but then there are a lot of scammers and general butt-hurtness in most forums as well.

I've been a member for a while and have over 30 posts but they still dont show up

It takes a little bit for them to show in for sale section , I believe so the mods can overview them first before posting to the public to make sure there are no errors and such...
but the Wanted section should appear instantly .
Hope that helps

Don't show up for me and been member/lurker for 3yrs.
You both are "just over" the 30 posts, the mods may take a couple days to let you into the classifieds. Remember, they have to spend time keeping "the other kids" in line on this forum, so they may miss the second you have satisfied the minimums to gain access to that section.

Try it again, see what happens.8)

a few days ago, I satisfy condition of "30/30".
when advancing regulation my "member grade" ??
Is there also a procedure??

It so hard... ~~

The moderators have to clear your status first, just give it a day or so and if you've meet all the criteria they will magically show up.

I appreciate the opportunity to buy a star and be able to see the classifieds. The "other site" doesn't even have that option. I paid my $20 a few days ago and have been scouring the ads several times a day! I just bought a very cool Land Rover body today and can't wait to get it.
A lot for sale!

Cheers!
