Chip's SCX-10 Now rolling on 1.55

Looking good Chip! I was thinking the same too...the 90mm shocks are too low for my preference. I am in the process of looking for some longer shocks for my hilux.
How did you mount the body? Did you hack the stock shock hoops?

Because 90mm shocks are way to short the axles hit the frame and you get no travel at all.

I finally got all the body parts in and so I started hacking.

Nice work Chip! I 've been thinking about bobbing my Yota too, I think it just looks more aggressive for rockcrawling. You should cut that rear flare off even."thumbsup"

Thats just beautiful nice buy. "thumbsup"
Thank you sir.

In the front under the hood I took a piece of .80 styrene drilled two holes in and used velcro and in the rear I cut the body post holes off and filed the shock hoops flat. The body does not have a solid mount in the rear as of yet. I am going to tie the cab in to the sliders for a good solid mount.

Thanks for the input

Nice rig. Would you mind posting pics of how you mounted the cab? I just cant seem to find the right spot on my cab. Thanks
I will later when I get a chance "thumbsup"

chip pm me whenever u want that interior "thumbsup"
Bring it on the 25 th to the GTG

You never take breaks between rigs. Wish i was able to do work like that.
The wife says the same thing.

Trim it, cut out the tailgate and hang it crooked
Thanks for the idea !!! "thumbsup"

looks alot better with the flair trimed up"thumbsup"
Thanks Brian, I just need to lower the truck down and put some softer springs on those stiff arse shocks. I will be shaving the body post hole in the hood next I hope it turn out as nice as the bed does.

Now that is really sweet. Nice score!!
Thanks man, that truck is soooooo Bad ass !!!! 8)

Man I love a bobbed Yota..

You dont need softer springs, just more weight

My lil Pajero flatten those suckers out "thumbsup"

Now that looks good. Wanna do mine for me? Does it really need lowering, looks ok from here. RC4WD's softer spring conversion for those shocks work well. I put them on my rears and I like em.

I lowered the truck down it is much better now. I have the soft RC4WD soft springs in the mail now.

laid eyes on it today and it looks even better in person.
Thanks Kurt, glad you like it. "thumbsup"

Well.... it has been two months since I updated this thread. I have decided to go with a Prerunner/Rockcrawler Yota' style. This truck is going to be fast for a scale rig, I am going to use a 22x1 Turn 550 can motor on 3s.

I will be doing a drop bed and full interior from a O.G. Bruiser, this is just a start.
The truck will have front and rear bumpers with a 3racing winch mounted on the front bumper.
