Carisma F-150 on my TRX-4

Rig looks great, a total beast with those tires. Your yard looks like a fun place to run it to boot.

Anyone foresee any issues with this?
the bed of the truck won't sit all the way down on the magnets with that antennae sticking straight up like it was.
Coming from the Helicopter world, this shouldn't be an issue what so ever unless our transmitters have a much weaker signal?

Because crawlers are typically driven slowly up and over/around obstacles, and drivers usually are up close and observing the vehicle tire placement, antenna concerns are basically non-existent.

Many crawlers keep their antenna just looped inside a sealed plastic box for waterproofing as well, with no issues.

I would not worry about that at all - unless you hook up a 6S LiPo and do speed runs down the street!

Every crawler I own has the antenna under the body..."thumbsup"

EDIT: Lovin' the Carisma body, BTW - if I ever swap my Defender it will likely be to that shell!

Same as durok says.. shouldn't be any issue. On my buddy's trx4/ Carisma body version we actually relocated the receiver all the way up in front of the shock tower. We then heated and bent the antennae tube so it's laid down and tucked in pretty tightly now... in between the front shock mounts and the receiver. He's had that truck pretty far away from the transmitter several times while doing some long hill climbs, and never a glitch.

High Plains Drifter:
Those raised emblems (F250, Custom) on your friends truck - printed or purchased?
They look great...

I agree! They really do look good. He painted them as well but I dunno what paint he used. He bought the emblems from ASA3 Scale Products on Etsy. I just checked and the shop is on IG and FB as well. My buddy told the shop owner the dimensions that he wanted and sent him images of the emblems for that particular body and the guy made him a custom listing ( whatever that means). He told me to tell you to mention that "GunMetal78" sent you. I guess it's on file now so maybe an easy buy. Dunno what he paid for 'em.

Thank you sir!

It was an expensive experiment and I'm glad that I tried it! I think it looks great, like the old highboy...

I can swap back in just a couple minutes without an issue if I need to.

Yeah, they look really good. Just if the wheels were a tad bit smaller and there was more sidewall it would be perfect, but hey, it still looks good. Plus, there’s nothing you can do about that lol

I know this isn't Traxxas related but I wanted to practice on this before I go all in on my F-150.

Did I go a little too much "all in"? I feel like it's a little overboard but maybe I'm being to critical of my work? Looking for thoughts.

Probably some flat clear to knock down the shiney parts will help?

I would absolutely flat clear that body to knock that shine down... looks like it just ran through a field of glazed donuts on a warm day. Otherwise I think it looks pretty good regarding the weathering.

Haha. I was thinking an ash tray - glazed donuts first though.

I'd tone it down. With weathering 'less is more'. Agreed the Ferd looks good as is minus maybe my chrome delete suggestion in the other thread.

Okay cool, thanks guys for the suggestions. I do have flat clear on the way to me now. I think I could wash this Tamiya paint off pretty easy if I want to before the flat clear. I may try that a bit to experiment. I'm okay using this rig as the experimental piece haha.

I think this weathering kit will work good on the chrome for the F-250 also - lightly.

Where in the world are you finding this body for sale? I have never seen just the body for sale and want to get my hands on one lol.

Too long for your 10ii.

Would fit your Traxxas with the longer rear links, hint hint.

Its pretty narrow though, 1:10 is a stretch I think. Makes 1.9s look pretty big. Nice detail on it though. I was all hyped when I first got into this hobby over that particular body.

I was thinking custom links or maybe even a custom chassis. Been wanting to do a ground up build for a while.
