I am building a car on a thight budget. Wich 2.2 beadlock rim would you recommend? Also looking for a grippy budget tire.

I like the GMade 2.2 wheels for budget beadlocks. They're plastic so you'll need to add some lead weights to them. There are no good budget tires that are grippy. I think Proline makes the best bang for your buck tires that work well, are made from a good compound, and they include decent foams.

I guess tires is the hard part. How about RC4wd Mickey Thompson MTZ? Are they any good. There is some cheap ones on ebay.

I can't speak for the 2.2 mtz's, but I had the taller 1.9 mtz's and the sidewalls were extremely thin... one tire actually ripped when my son turned the wheel and it rubbed on the knuckle... put 2 holes in the sidewall..right after I mounted them... they seemed to work pretty well though... but the sidewall imo was way too thin and stock foams were too soft... I had another pair with some c.i. deuces wild foams, and they were better, but still had very thin sidewalls that tore easily.. again, these were tall 1.9's so maybe the 2.2 has a thicker sidewall..? Not sure though

Axial beadlocks and tires are relatively cheap and work well. Look for r35 compound cant really go wrong with any tread design. They can generally be found on ebay fairly cheap too

the 2.2 mtz are a good tire but you will need a good bit of wheel speed to keep them clean if your in a loamy or wet area .

Axial R35 Ripsaws with Axial plastic beadlocks, RC4WD steel beadlocks, or good set of used beadlocks. CI DW foams.

Second the bay teach for R35/plastic set ups. I usually head for my LHS for anything but wheels and tires are hard to pass up at 25% of the cost.
