bilinvic's TRX4

I believe RC Nerds on Shapeways has some cool scale accessories for this body, you should check it out! If I remember correctly they have a whole grill that integrates into it and other junk.

The CI 4.0 Lil' Nova foams have arrived and have been stuffed into the Proline Super Swamper TSL SX tires...they fit these tires really well unlike the 4.25 foams which overfill them.

Now it's time to get this beast out on the mountains...hopefully soon.

I forgot I had ordered the Bowhouse RC LCG battery tray which arrived yesterday....now my rig is ready to hit the rocks!

Very nice piece, well done Bowhouse RC. I did have to modify the rear section because I lowered my chassis, I used a small barrel sander on my Dremel to remove the sections of the tray so that that the upper links would not come into contact with the bottom of the battery tray under full flex. I also added a SCX10.2 "battery don't move thingy" so that my 3S 2200mAh batteries would not slide out the back of the tray in addition to moving the chassis brace rearward.

I shouldn't have to perform any more mods now!

Another great thread, Bil! Thanks for ordering the battery tray and the shout-out...glad you're liking it. We've been having a lot of fun with our TRX-4s. "thumbsup"

Great run today with my TRX4 up Mt. Wells. Luckily the snow pack had a hard crust to keep from breaking through.

There was still a large amounts of bare rock to crawl on and I have to say, I am VERY happy with the balance of my TRX4 now. There's a particular section on Mt.Wells that I try to conquer, I've probably tried over a hundred and fifty times with all my crawlers and today the TRX4 got further up than any of the others in my collection. The smaller P-L Swampers SX with the 4.0 Lil' Nova foams performed admirably today, even in the snow.

I can't think of any other mods or changes I can do to improve performance....that's a good thing!"thumbsup"

Got out on the weekend with some buddies to run my TRX4 again. I must say this build has come a long way from when I first got it, the crawling performance sucked and I was determined to make it great...and now it is great. As far as I am concerned, the SCX10.2 is the "king of the castle" for a 1.9 crawler, not just a trail runner, but hardcore precision rock crawling. Well, I have to say, I truly believe my TRX4 with small 4.30" (109mm) tires has surpassed my 10.2 in crawling performance. Throw in the ability to switch gears, lock and unlock diffs, this thing is way more fun to drive.

It took lots of money, time and tuning to get it to this point, but it was definitely worth it....I love this machine now! It's also tough as nails, my buddy thrashes hard on his TRX4 and it always keeps going; mine took some pretty good tumbles as well and the only thing that happened was that I bent the SSD front bumper.

Awesome pictures as always Man. "thumbsup"

I run the same bumper on the front of my trx4 Nukizer and bent it the exact same way this past weekend. It straightened in a vise no problem.

Thank you.

Yup..hard plastic mallet and a wood surface and the bumper is almost like new again!

Yep OMFs for the win. Comparing the 2 pics now, the steel wheel looksproportionally like they’d be a larger than stock 15” steel wheel. The OMFs look aftermarket of course and better in that size to me.

Yes, but no thoroughly. I had them on my 10.2 rig last weekend for their first outing but the truck suffered a failure. I should be able to get them out for a good break-in session soon. I know my TRX4 performed incredibly well with the 4.30 Swampers so these tires have some big "shoes" to fill!!!

Love the pictures, especially the mountain range in the background. Make a me have the itch for summer.
