I like seeing all the fab work, but that servo horn down low on the axle hanging in the breeze is going to attract trouble quickly. Any concerns? Thoughts?

I understand what you are saying but I run the arm down on class 3front and rear and it has never hung upon anything. If it does take a hit at speed it barely clears the tube so it flexes ever so little and bottoms out on the tube not putting any stress on the servo and bearings. In the pics it is shown in the outer hole, it will be moved to the inner hole so it sits almost flush with the bottom of the tube.

A little more progress has been made. Added the X in the rear and door bars are in so the tube work on the chassis is done aside from welding and finishing. Battery mount is in, nice and low in a sneaky spot up front. Electronics tray, lexan, is all done and threw together an interior too. Also got me a bad ass new winch too courtesy of KMS. Its the 220 oz K3 free spool. The free spool will come in handy during the tank trap"thumbsup".
Wasn't feeling the big bores on this so had to swap them out for some losi 22t rear shocks. Loaded these up with MIP bypass pistons which should help with traction and everything else high speed. After TTC this rig will see a lot of U4 type action since there are a couple of tracks in the area now. Hopefully the old dog can hang with the buggies;-)
Played around with the sway bar and decided to mount it to the lower link with a simple sheetmetal bracket that is locked in with the rod end. I used a piece of fuel tubing instead of the metal ball to keep the link from twisting as the suspension cycles. Not the best way too mount it but we will see.
Tomorrow I plan on building the rear truss finally and maybe some chassis welding. Getting closer, only one week left...

Got this little guy built after work today. Its actually quite large and burly. I had to move the lower shock mounts to the outside of the link/shock mount so the bigger shocks would clear the chassis rails, also similar angle of the 1:1. This would put a lot of stress on the 3mm screw and this thing is not a light weight so I really wanted to maintain the double shear method I have every where else on the links and shocks. This is what I came up with....

Dang! That is burly! That rig is going to be a solid 9-10 lbs when it's done! Looks cool though, definitely has that TTC look. This going to be your class 3 too, or are you going to stick with the tuber for that?

No wimpy light weight here, LOL. I don't think the weight will hurt too much in a ttc, but for the hill climb and mud pit. Honestly I don't see this hanging with my buggy on the rocks. Unwelded this chassis is 1lbs 7 oz. Short Fuse's chassis is only 14 oz. I have half a notion to build a version 2 of this but lightweight for a new class 3.

That's a great idea, thanks! I debated on welding on a little button but realized I couldn't replace the bearing if needed. Maybe a button held on by a set screw, hmmmm wheels are turning.
What a joy the last two days have been. Yesterday after work was 5 hours of welding and finishing. Today after work did some sand blasting and right into paint. All of the parts have been primered and one coat of satin black just like its big brother. Tomorrow morning I will go with one more coat and once its dry start final assembly. Need to paint the body too, that's easy though since its just Lexan.

I still have it but it's a buggy now with no ford body left. After ttc it was pretty hammered and didn't want to maintain the sheetmetal with how I drive. One day I plan on putting ford skin back on it.
