Hey guy's,

i've been out of the scene for..jeese...5 years. i'm getting back into it because my son is turning 5 and has taken an interest in my 2.2 comp crawler. I'm going to get him a used comp rig when i find the right one. but...back to my question.

when i left the scene the white dot losi claws were regarded as the best all around tire for the PNW. i'm just checking in to see if anyone has made any significant improvements or if these guys are still one of the best.

thanks. "thumbsup"

voodoo pins are hands down the best all around you can get, IMO. if you look at comp results and more people chime in, thats what you will hear. comp crawling is not as popular, everyone is into the scale scene. i am a comp crawler person personally.

There is not 1 single best tire. Compound, temperature and terrain dictate what is going to work better any given day. Voodoo pins work great, so do a whole pile of other tires like rovers, sedonas, ruptures and a myriad of custom built tires.

I know comp crawling isn’t as popular anymore...but I just can’t get into the scale thing. My attraction to this hobby was pulling challenging lines that may not be possible in a 1:1 rig.

100% this. this is also why I have 27 different sets of tires. to not include the other 6 sets that I haven't completed yet.

foam tuning is also something that cannot be overlooked.

Erik Dux went over a few points in foam tuning in his kit car video around the 4 hour mark.

also take in consideration wheel width vs tire width.

CI foams are the best. but there are so many options from Eddie.
