Bay City or Tri Citys MI

A couple guys were asking - here are some pics I dug up:

http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=238007&page=23

Looks pretty cool - I could be coerced into a road trip

The coarse shown in the pics has 6 tons of rocks on it. In the spring we are going to build an out door coarse with 30 tons of rock. The out door coarse will consist of sandstone and granite. The river rock is nice but everyone likes the sandstone better.

The indoor coarse looks small but it takes 6 hours to run five guys through it twice.

We also plan on building a rock racing coarse out side when the ground thaws.

We should have a get together sometime. Let me know if there is any interest.

Should be here sometime this week, Thanks Timmahh for finding this for me.

Oh i just remembered Matt, When i was running the edge chassis I had to move the top of the shocks inside the chassis and add some spacers. When it would articulate the shock caps would hit the chassis and pop them off.

Im interested, What are your classes? I have 1.9 and 2.2 scalers.

the 1.9 should do just about as well as the 2.2. the differance is so minimal, the 1.9s only have a slightly tougher time than the 2.2, UNLESS you make a Losi MRC specific course. then it would need to be Smaller, even though the MRC is classed as 1.9 (due to tire size, not chassis size and wheel base)

We will be building a dedicated coarse for the Losi MRC size crawler. It will be only slightly smaller. The biggest difference will be the size of the rock we use. We have tested the MRC on the 2.2 coarse, and what happens is the smaller 1.9 tires fall into the cracks between the rocks. So the new 1.9 coarse will have smaller rocks, covering the terrain that will be very similar to the 2.2 indoor coarse, as far as 50deg inclines, gullies, side hilling and so on. I HIGHLY doubt that a (STOCK MRC) will be able to complete the coarse that we will be building. You will have to run a pimped out MRC to compete successfully on the coarse.

i think you Mis understood Chris' question

hes not asking about running his 2.2 Scaler in the 1.9 class, thats just sillyness. lol and Chris is Silly, but not THAT silly.

he is asking IF 2.2 Scale Rigs will be Grouped with 2.2 Comp rigs.

Scalers have different rules than compers.

Is your club Nationally Reconized? i thought there was only one group MIRCA reconized here in MI.

if not, who givesa**** what the slopers rules are.

Sorry I misunderstood. We only have two guys that run 2.2 scale trucks right now. So they usually run with the comp rigs. As a club we stick very close to the USRCCA rules. It keeps the headaches down to a minimum. If there are two or three scale 2.2 trucks that want to do a comp along the scale line, that would be no problem. As for having a specific coarse built for that purpose. we have no plans on doing anything like that. If there is enough interest, in the future that could change.

LOL, Thanks Tim for clerifing that. I could have worded it different.

Also scalers don't have set wheelbase, the wheelbase depends the what body you run. Scalers don't really need a seperate course. I've upset a few comp rigs with my 2.2 scaler.

Well after looking at my truck today. To make sure nothing got broke from the kick. I see that the link's are hitting the frame:oops:. So i put in some spacers and now i think it flex's to much.

Thats cool ! Atleast ya guys got some rigs on the way. Theres plenty of crawlin left this winter to do. Those warm days were just a teaser for us.

ya today sucked. thought my furnace my of been funky. well this am no pilot light and it wouldnt stay lit.

put a new Thermocoupler in, still wouldnt stay lit. ok time to call the Furnace man. 3 hrs and 385.00 later i have what appears to be a properly working furnace again. the secondary burner wasnt kicking in, and the primary burner was only burning at 20% of it supposed volume. i wonder why i could never get it above 65* thru the whole winter. so it took a new controller unit. OUCH.

on the plus side, i may of found out why i ve been feeling pretty crappy all damn winter. well see what happens in the next few days to a week.
