Yeah, I tried that stuff. I'm guessing the 3cell on the speed control that isn't rated for anything larger than 2cell could be the problem.

Got my veleneon motor from traxxas, and the first thing I noticed is that the diameter of the motor is too skinny to line up with 540 motor holes :evil:, Hmmmmmmmm:x Ok, after that passed I decided it will fit I just needed to make it fit. I actually got one hole to line up nice and then the second with a washer on it will fit over here....hmmmm Ok.
next thing I know I was scooting it on the floor and it is everything I wanted ! "thumbsup" Likin the power. I only tried it with the NMhd batteries and it has LOTS of speed. I shudder to think of what it would do with the 3 cell lipo. Is the speed controller for that rated for 3 cell? I got the package deal with the motor and speed controller. If I use Lipo does it have a cut off? I need to do some reading on the setup.... Anyway it works great!:mrgreen:

Well after some reading it seems as though it is both 3s lipo safe and has the cutoff as well. I may play with it to see what its like with full boogie power but seemed ok with the week batteries. Hmm gunna be fun I need some sand paddles for this sucker as Im going to the sand dunes the end of july

Id rather see it go through mud and stuff and see gears a flying

Tried my 27t with the sidewinder and it works. The motor is shot. NOw I'll have to try the xl5 with the 27t and see if it's still working. Brushless here I come.
