hi, ive been slowly building this axial wraith 3 in 1 since end of september. these are some pics of the last day out of it having 2 solid axles.

whilst having fun the mud. i heard a loud snapping sound. took a closer look at my wraith to find ....

it was a good job i did not need the front axle anymore.
the day before braking my axle i had purchased an axial exo in spares.

as i began to look at the exo and ask a few friends with exos about there strength. the mainly said the king pins ben easy. so i came up with an idea to use an exo front bulk head and toe blocks, with slash 4x4 rpm arms, slash 4x4 caster bocks and slash 4x4 steering blocks. this looked a much nicer set up and didnt use king pins.
so i ordered all the slash parts i needed.

i love how well built the traxxas aluminium feels and how well packaged it is.

later that day i set about MODIFYING the slash arms to fit.

i had to take about 3mm of them to make them fit on there. after that everything was a bolt up job.

now that the front was pretty much built, i got bored and seen the back of the exo cage and then looked at the back of my wraith and a light bulb ping in my head.
i set about cutting the exo cage to fit. all it took was a lighter, drill and drill bit and some m3 screws.
i had experimented with some bumpers but settled to use the stock wraith rear. the ting that put me using the bumper was the light mount so drilled some more holes and mounted them in another location.
one advantage i get of the exo cage is i can use the engine bay made for the exo and the rear light bar.

I then thought id spice up the body a bit with some stickers.

the next peace of the puzzle to be added was its heart and soul. i decided i want some power and settled on this as it was just what i wanted and came up cheap.

here is the escs home.

2050kv tekin t8 and rx8 system. gonna have plenty of power to play with :woohoo:
i began to cut the interior to fit around the tranny and motor. Also the esc has been remounted to a safer location.
And for fun i found a Mcdonalds minion toy and thought he'd make a good driver. lol

the first of the international orders came through the door today. great well made parts from gcm. £35.50 posted from canada for 2 great price. thanks for the tip off on these pete attryde.

Just got these through the post today :)

the order finally arrived :P

i coudnt wait so i built up the MIP drive shafts for the front.

The order consists of these parts
Vanquish bearing caps
Vanquish axle housing
Vanquish shock mounts
Vanquish lockouts
Arb diff cover
Ax10 Mip
Mip slash stub axle
Team durango 35mm stroke shocks

Got them all built up and mounted on the car, the Durango shocks use a small imperial screw to hold the piston in place so I used the axle shaft which uses a 4mm ny lock nut. The vanquish axles are very nicely built, the Mip mod has been done to the front with GCM last lockers and a 4mm Allen key.

All mounted up some teaser pics :)

my ifs is due in 2 weeks time, stay tuned

cheers lee, its an experimental peace the slash parts but the more i read it seems to be a nicer set up, stronger and more steering lock two great factors which made me go this way. :)

Hello Joe, just wanted you to know that you inspired me to build a Wrexo as well. I was also concerned about the king pin style Exo front suspension so I opted for the TRX Slash front assembly as well. Where are you with your build? I see the "teaser shots" but was curious as to the performance and TRX parts performance. Here are a few shots of mine.

Looks a good build glad I helped someone out. Mine is still a long way off as I'm struggling to get cash for it now my real car needs parts.

Very interesting build! So how's it drive and handle? Will it still crawl? How does it compare to a Twin Hammers?

Havent driven it yet. Only drive a hammers for about 20mins which was my friends so I cant really answer your questions right now but I can in a few more months.

Thanks. I seen the pre drilled holes and thought hey why not plus they will light up the trail better being up front and I can't run them in there normal postion as the shocks are there instead.

Due to some durability issues on my maiden voyage I am considering swapping mine over to traxxas components. Seems it was pretty easy to switch them over. Do you think the arms will hold up ok with the shaved off material?
