Australia

Ive been checking flights from Hong Kong into Australia, as I want to bring my crawler and hook up some guys to do some local crawling spots.

What do you guys recommend?

Casey

I'm sure no one over there knows what the deal is. There are probably 2 people, and possibly one of two other Victorians that would, money's on you won't find them on cANZ.

Won't be trying too. I think the numbers speaker for themselves, its been open 12months and only has - Total members 171

A simple question was asked, some one said they don't like the run's so you locked it.

the fact the feel they have too call it "The Other Forum" means there is obviously issues between the 2 site. That sucks and is only bad for every one. You locking it only looks bad too the members the do go there when TCP is down. That's how I found you. Very Petty too me but meh, neither are mine, I'm not a regular on TCP and can't see myself rushing back to cANZ after this first impression.

Have fun

In the greater Sydney area, you can't beat Voodoo Rocks. It's at the end of Sir Joseph Banks Drive at Kurnell.

The fact that we don't allow speculation and bullshit talk about another forum's problems makes us bad? After all, that's all there can be unless Benno or the new guy (lol, forgot his name, but the RC Garage bloke) post an official statement here or anywhere, all it is is speculation.

As for the membership numbers you mention in another post, none of our members are spambots or trying to push dick pills.

If that is the case it HAS NOT come over that way at all! It's come over as a little kiddy getting jealous over a bigger sandbox next door.

LOL Ever more of a reason too be there! I need the Dick Pills! :flipoff:

Were are you flying too?

I dont have any plans yet. I am more looking for a place to fly into. Also, some local RC friends would help alot to sway my decision.

I appreciate the tip. Are there many RC guys around that area? Any on this board?

Heh, this is funny.

Moderators moderate, its their job. the comment about the TCP helpline was statement of fact, and there the story ended.

I am a member of both forums, visit each infrequently, and have issues with the rules of both, but I am adult and can see thru the problems and use both forums as I see fit.

Point of interest, if this discussion continues much further, don't be surprised if this thread also gets moderated too....

Casey, I would love to have you come visit this side of the country. But it has to be said that the boys in the east (NSW) do have the best rocks for crawling. Especially in summer with the proximity to the ocean. Bearing that in mind we do still have some great locations here in the west and Stewbaru (Older Brother) and I would be happy to show you some of the crawling spots around our side of the country, plus they are a bit strange over there:flipoff:.

As for the whole debate about the forums. I prefer cANZ but that is my choice more useful information on up to date crawling. Don't get me wrong I still browse TCP but rarely find anything that interests me.

Speak to any one around the world about crawling and they will ask you a couple of simple questions.

Scale or Comp?
If you answer comp then the next question will be

Sportsman or Pro?

Then you answer "Oh, neither we compete under the old rules trail and Limited"

Which to their surprise they will say "why?"

The way that I look at it If you are going to compete in something that has a world wide appeal. You might as well compete on a world wide standard like they have here on RCC. Which is what we at cANZ have done. I commend the boys on cANZ for their efforts in having us accepted as the first non US USRCCA sanctioned club and am greatly looking forward to next years events.

Then again you may see TCP adopt the "standard" rules and regs next year. If they are up and running again by then.

Posting on forums can be taken so many different ways, it all come down to the interprintation by the person reading it not posting it!

MY 2cents:flipoff:

When i got into rc crawling i found 3 forums of interest.. RCC, TCP & cANZ
I love RCC for the large range of info its members have posted and really helps someone new to it..
I got involved with TCP to start comping, problem is most of the people treat noobs like **** wits and when attending comps my family felt very unwelcome (a coulpe of guys were ok but most well yeah...)
RC crawling in oz is small enough yet alone dick heads like this making it hard for noobs to join in.. the sad part is i feel it was all because my kids and i had no interest in scale:roll:
Another thing i felt was sad was hearing several local dissing the sydney guys... again how can the sport grow like this???
So this little black duck started going to the cANZ comps, and regardless of all ive heard.. the guys there (all of them) have made my family and i feel not only welcome but a part of it all;-)

Now its a big change to go from local comps about 45min away to commit to 2-3hour drives to a comp but i feel its worth every minute.. so diss the cANZ crew all you want but you might want to check your side of the fence first.....

None of this post was writen in anger, so it will be interesting to see the interprintation of it, flame suit on:twisted:"thumbsup"

I have changed my opionion of you Dan and Yes I have meet up :flipoff:

I don't give a fark about comp's! I came Here for info and FOUND HEAPS MORE THAN I COULD HAVE WISHED FOR! I have bought from here, from link's here, etc AND LOVE IT!

I just posted about cANZ here cause this is were/how I found it.

I really don't give a shit! It just reminds me of the SRBB Days and we all know they were redonkyaless!!

OK, I checked Expedia, and it looks like I can get from Hong Kong to Perth for about $1000 USD round trip. So, provided I did so, what is the best way to do it, and what time would be good for me to do it?

What is good to do in Perth? Get a good hotel on the beach? Check out the local forests?

In fact, I already told the wife that I want to do this. I think we should set this up.

Gday mate, Australia is one big rock, so whether you go to the West coast or East coast you wont be dissapointed. More mountains on the East coast though. Have fun.

This is true, rock everywhere. Bush rock, coastal rock, it's all over the place.

Probably a good idea to travel around a bit, see as much as you can afford and make it worth your time and money.

My 2c is Sydney would be one of the picks to find places to crawl. They have regular gatherings too, but as said before if you're coming all this way get around and see as much as you can!

Hey Casey,

So, you're heading to Perth. Highlucks and his crew will hook you up for the local crawling spots over that way.

Hopefully they can help out with the tourist attractions and accommodation questions also...because a Kiwi living in Sydney certainly aint much help :ror:

If you can get yourself to Sydney there are a number of great spots for crawling and plenty of people just itching to get out and play.

When are you heading downunder?

Cheers,
Mike.

Got to come to Queensland if you want beaches, NT if you want interesting locals, NSW for the only proper crawling club and melbourne for culture. Never been further west than NT so you'll just have to take highlucks word for how good it is. Oh and pretty much anyway if you want a pub:ror:

Kieren

Well, I have been chatting to Highlucks, and it looks as if I will be heading down toward Perth around the 1st of December. Should be nice and warm around that time. Im sure I will make my way to the east coast next year, but this is just going to be a quick 5 day jaunt down unda.
