Well I met Brian Foss (Briansbodies) a few months back when I moved to the area, and we have become fast friends. I was going to ride with him to the comp where he was injured, but I was just recovering from some sort of flu and decided I was still too sick to go. When I heard about his problems I thought that maybe we could do what we love (for me its building scalers) and help Brian out at the same time. I have been working on this build mainly with Brian Muzzy (Bmuzz1) and we have recieved donations from several other local AZ crawlers. Our plan is to build a scale 1.9 TJ based crawler that we will then auction off to the highest bidder and donate all of the money from the sale to Brian for use with his medical bills etc.
The build will also include a very generous donation from Corey at RPP Hobby which will be unveiled soon! (Don't you love the suspense???) RPP Hobby rocks (as does RCC! Please support both!) RPP has great prices, fast shipping, great customer service, and lots of cool scale and crawling parts.
So far we have gotten several parts for the build:
John(MTHead) donated the XL5 ESC
Brian Muzzy (Bmuzz1) donated the 645 servo, air tank, fairlead, winch, rc4wd ball ends and aluminum links, Reign antenna, brake line for the cage.
Clint (65Volkswagen) donated the Axial 1.9's
Art (Bikedad) donated everything else including the axles, shocks and lots of leaf springs.
I am donating the body and building a frame and cage etc.
Here are some fuzzy pics of the parts:
Please follow along with the build and start saving up your money to buy this scaler! We have lots of plans for this build. Bmuzz1 and I will be updating the build as it goes along.
I hope I did not forget anyone!!!
I would also like to thank everyone here that has contributed to all of the fundraising for Brain!
