Like everybody elses, the ESC on my SCX24 died about 3 packs after I bought it, and I never touched it again. I want to revive the truck and have it to use inside this winter, so I started looking at ESCs and upgrades in general. The Furitek stuff looks fantastic, but frankly, I want to find a cheaper upgrade path. The WPL ESC is dirt cheap ($10) and based on the couple videos I could find, it looks like a really solid option for these tiny trucks.

Has anybody else tried out these ESCs?

Tomley RC happened to post a review video about this today. Maybe that was one of the videos you mentioned. Looks worth risking $10 for anyway.

I did see that video. The ESC is sold out at WPL, but as with any cheap imported electronics, they're sold under 200 different names and I found some unbranded ones on ebay, so I ordered a couple to see how they are.

ive used a few of those ebay versions for winch controlers they work fine untill they dont in my opinion i think a de-cased hobbywing would work much better

another thing not all of those escs have drag break and some have the double tap for reverse so becarefull witch one you get
