any crawlers in MN?

welli really wana come but depending on what happens with the 1:1 idk. axle swap takes a while. if i can make it ill be there.

could i see a picture of a the chassis used in a rig?
i imagine someone here has this rig built. also, would this perform better than an sw2? that is what i was looking at. i may be making $9 a week now, but i am looking for a job. if i can get a job sometime soon i will have more options, and when the grass starts growing enough i can start mowing my lawn to make some money as well.

if you have that rig still together or if anyone else has a rig with this chassis i would like to see it in person. if my ride pulls through then i will be at taylors this sunday. i will tell you if i am going as soon as i find out if i have transportation so you can bring a built rig with that chassis if you have one.
Man-o-man kid, your getting an offer of a pretty much free chassis and you want to see it in person and not sure if you want it and ask if it is better than a SW2--these guy's are just tryin to get you into a crawler on your limited budget and you fighting it-----COME ON LET THEM HELP YA OUT. This would save you tons of money to get ya going until ya can afford the other stuff you need, these things are not cheap to build and it sounds like your hoping to get a job--well these guy's can get you going in an afternoon so you can run what is obviously a competition level set-up.

you said almost free. how much does it cost? i was trying to decide to spend money on it or the sw2 because i thought it costed around the same price. i will buy it once i get my hands on a tlt kit and have some money for it. i'll try to find some chores to do too earn a little cash. so with a tlt, this chassis, a tranny, wheels, and driveshafts i would be set for a crawler excluding electronics?

Tman, tell ya what if you get a stock tlt I would sell you a locked pede tranny with bearings and the upgraded internals along with my old set of moabs on rims for $60. This would be a great start for you, all you would need from there are shocks, a chassis, links, and a body. And troy should still have the torsion chassis I gave him to test out, its for a TLT.

With the torsion setup, axles, wheels, and a tranny you would be just about set. Add a lathe motor or a slower brushless, high torque servo and a body :-P You could end up with a very capable crawler without breaking the bank.

This is the chassis I made for him, one for Kevin too. Its a complete setup, just add axles and tranny :) If you brought your axles locked, and electronics I could put this all together for you in 30 minutes in the parking lot.

This will be half the cost lil buddy, the tranny alone is worth almost what he's askin besides the tires and the chassis and the KNOWHOW of how to put it together, as for the other parts I "think" you can use the TLT shocks for now and the body and the links and servo's you could buy and bring with ya and I bet with these guy's helpin ya you could have it together in the lot and crawl with it that day.

No shocks needed, its a torsion stick. Nice set up, with BTA steering. Very easy to put a front dig in. Maybe I will have to do some trading.....a dig set up for some help with a chassis....hmmmmm. Will see everyone on Sunday. Let us hope the rain holds out.

Thanks,
Casey

Do any of the hobby shops in the Cities have loose 2/3A cells. Or a pack for a good price (the cheaper the better). I'm finishing up my boat that I started last summer and I might need some cells for a new batt. I will be up there this saturday to drop off some thing to a guy. So I thought I would grab some.

If Kevin or Troy do not plan to use the ones I gave them, they should be willing to give it out for free to another club member to try :) Sounds like Troy might finally be using his? If they are both going to hold on to theirs, I could just toss another one together. I would just need to make the servo mount, backbone, and tranny mounting plate. I have a few steering arms, and axle mounts still.

is this chassis similar to the txt chassis you had at the last gtg. it looks similar from the picture. also, how much would you want for the tranny, old tires, and chassis? then all i'll have to get is electronics, and driveshafts, right?

The axle mounts are much easier to make on the TLT version, just flat stock. My Jugg has aluminum brackets with 4 bends, they are a pain to make. Also on my Jugg I used C channel, not L stock for the backbone. And the Jugg has a more complex tranny mount. But they are both torsion setups.

I have a stock Tamiya ESC with foreward/reverse laying around I could donate. It should work just fine to start with for a tlt crawler. As for steering servos, you could get away with almost any old servo you or anyone might have laying around just to get you by untill you can afford a good One.
I am using the chsssis I got from EtypeR last yr, Nicklepimp has One though that I don't think he's using. for a radio, you could use whatever you have in your other truck. All you would need are shafts. I think EtypeR said $60 for the locked tranny with tires and rims if I'm not mistaken. If you only have $65 now? I think I'd look in the for sale section, and see if you can't find a decent set of used TLT axles. Most of what you use from the kit is the axles and maybe some hardware anyway.

If you buy everything else, I'd be willing to give you the torsion chassis for free. Etype didn't charge me anything for it, so it wouldn't be fair for me to charge you.

i will see if i can find some new tlt axles before i settle for used, worn ones. if i got only axles, what other hardware would i need from the tlt?

Not much wears out on a TLT axle, mine was only poping the gears last weekend because I didn't install 2 of the e-clips. I've only broken one axle so far, and replaced them for $8. The cases are only $4.

With a torsion setup, don't need anything else from the kit. With a bender rig, you need the axle link mounts.

what are the part #'s of the replacement parts i need to build 2 full tlt axles? i checked the for sale section, and ebay and didn't find anything.

Search around in the TLT forum, there are a few threads with all the parts. I am at work, and don't really have the time to dig for it between parts.

Careful with those ebay auctions... Shipping on both of those is not cheap, one is 30 and the other is under 30 if you have 2-3 months to wait, or 35-50 if you have 2 weeks to wait....
