any crawlers in MN?

I loaned a friend of mine some $ to pick up an Axial yesterday (until he sells his 2nd car that he doesn't use anymore) He mentioned he'd like to get into crawling, so I offered to help him. He started building it last night at my place, and seems pretty excited about it. He's has 1 step left to go on the Axles, and is ready to hopefully finish building it today. I told him if he found out crawling wasn't his thing, I would just keep the truck, and use it for a club truck, for people who bring a guest and want to try crawling. I'm pretty sure he'll be into crawling though "thumbsup"
I also picked up myself a set of 2.2 Badlands "thumbsup"
I also ordered a set of the new Hammers :)

That's pretty cool freetime. I have some stuff laying around, I might have to build a loaner myself. I'm willing to atleast donate parts to the club if that's at all possable.

Hey freetime, I bought Badlands and Hammers as well but prior to that I bought Slingers and Stompers the Slingers and Stompers were useless I sold the Stompers and I'd like to sell the Slingers. I'm hoping Proline has built better performance in these new releases. I'm getting a little tired of the tire wars.

Storm, those rc4wd tires are for scalers, not comp rigs :)

I know Mikey I apologize but they looked so dam good I couldn't resist buying them and who could tell you even ran the Slingers on a comp rig... ...I know now. My point is there has been a lot of hype about tires in the last 6 months. I hope there not just selling tires that don't have any performance.

Got to say big improvment in avatars Mike.... That last one you had gave me nightmares:shock: I will keep my eyes on the park and give a shout when the gates open

With easter around the corner, a peeps peed show seemed appropriate

I ran them on my Axial as I was sent a set from RC4WD for testing. The first run out with them, I could not even make a few of the gates on our first course. I ran the course with the Axial after the first run was finished, just to compare the tires and truck to my gopher setup.

They are working on softer compounds, and more aggressive comp treads. But they mainly focus on the scale tires, which I would rather they stick to in a way. Let Proline and Losi handle our comp tire needs.

Glad you two like the new avatar "thumbsup"

Mine is almost ready....How long do you guys usually spend out there? Do I need to pack a lunch?

We're usually there from 9am till mid afternoon. There is a gas station across the street, although packing a lunch wouldn't be a bad idea. I think the closest restaurant is a couple miles into Wisconsin. F.Y.I. we will have a club cooler with for everyone to use for food/drinks on site.

There is a drive in restaurant in taylors falls. the food is great and i think you can get it to go. on another note my gopher has been finished for 2 weeks. i got some nice xxx-racing vinyls on clean aluminum. it drives awesome. i am running 1500mah 6-cell batteries and it seems to be producing more power, because it is faster and noisier. i have 3 1500mah packs. i built a sheet aluminum skid plate instead of scratching up a painted steel one which would be prone to rust. i also built a guard for the battery and servo on the front axle. i hope to see you all on the 6th.

Joe was over last night, and he finished up his AX10, looks like we'll have another competitor. He really likes it so far, wait till this White shit is gone, and we can get him out to run on some rocks
I picked up the rest of my parts for the H-L rebuild this morning, including a new set of 1.9 Rock Crushers, it looks so much better with the Rock Crushers.
I'm going to go finish getting it back together, and start on a front bumper. I might have to do a little snow running with it this afternoon first though:)
