801rcc 2014 Crawl Comp, Ultra4 and Trail Event "ShamROCK Showdown"

This is it!!! 801RCC's most anticipated event of the year!!! You get to crawl at 1 of the greatest crawling spots in the nation, Hosted by 801RCC, with a great group of drivers from near by states. With southern Utah's beautiful red rock you'd have to be crazy to miss this comp

-Where-
St George, Utah

NAME: Pioneer Park
LOCATION: Pioneer Park St George, Ut. 250 East Red Hills Parkway
TERRAIN: Red Sandstone/Slick Rock
TRACTION: Medium/low, very consistent

St George is a nice town in the southwest corner of Utah. St George is home to some of the prettiest Red Rock in the word. With mountain biking, hiking, ATVing, Fishing, Gaming  and a few National Parks just miles away St George is a perfect place for a "getaway".

-When-
March 29th 2014

2.2 pro/RWYB
8:00am Course setup
9:45am Pics and drivers meeting
10:00am Competition starts
5:00pm All Courses close

2.2pro is by far most competitive class in the R/C crawling seen. So if you think you have what it takes to be on top then come on out and test your skills, you'll want to bring your A game. If you have other rigs, bring them along and try out the RWYB courses (RWYB is open to any R/C vehicle)

801RCC uses USRCCA 2.2pro rules

In true 801RCC fashion this will be a FREE event and is open to anyone wanting to attend. If you have a rig, we have a class for you to run it in.

-When-
March 30th 2014

Ultra4/Trail
9:00am Course setup
10:45am Pics and drivers meeting
11:00am Competition starts
5:00pm Courses close

Throwing dust, burning rubber and the sound of metal meeting rock is what Ultra4 racing is all about. This time 801RCC heads to Southern Utah for this months does of carnage and chaos, in a race that blends the art of crawling with the chaos of speed. Charge up those packs, load the parts bin, and lock in the 5 point harness cause this is going to be a wild ride!!

801rcc Ultra4/Trail rules can be found here

In true 801RCC fashion this will be a FREE event and is open to any "Scale" rig

Come spend the weekend with 801RCC at another premier R/C event.

Been wanting to get back out to utah. Just 2.2pro no minis or 2.2s

RWYB is a shafty class basically.
we allow any rig to run it and separate your scores by the vehicle type.(1.9, 2.2 shifty, wraith, etc...)

so technically you could run both of them in the rwyb class."thumbsup"

I'll be there for sure! Got 3 rigs I am bringing. I am a local of the Legendary Red Rock but, still really looking forward to it "thumbsup" Trying to spread the word as much as I can. Hope we can get a great turn out!

Well, You're trophies are safe until State Champs...

It looks like I can't make this one after all. Have fun out there!

Any count on how many guys are actually coming this year...? :???:

I'm not really sure.
Due to the lower interest in comp crawling these days I don't for see a huge turnout. It does sound like a good group of guys are planning on coming out for the Ultra4 race. Many of them are newer guys that probably aren't on here much (at least not in the comp sec.)

Id guess and say 10-15ish comp guys and 20-25ish Ultra4 drivers.
Big or small it'll be a great time regardless "thumbsup"

Posted these on 801rcc figured I'd share them here too

Check out these old school pics down on the red rock
The first one is a pic of the very first custom 2.2 scaler in Utah (as far as I know)
The second is one of my first leaf sprung rig.

Togetherness is what these events and this hobby is all about, not winning, loosing, being better than the next guy, or having the coolest parts

Hear are some flash back pics of 801 drivers driving together

Checking out those pics is getting me excited for a weekend of red rock fun! I think I will pack up now and leave early in the morning!
Birthday('s) weekend, no wife or kids, one of my favorite crawling/racing spots, good times with good people, warm weather....just a few reasons why! "thumbsup"
See you all on the rocks8)
