Quarry Creeper
This scx10 wears many body and tire combinations but with our club starting to pull a scale 1.9 pro-stock diesel truck class I wanted to turn it into an old Ford stroker (slapping a newer powerstroke into an old 70's ford truck is fairly common on the 1:1 pulling circuit).
Here is the truck before I started chopping.
I had a buddy machine up some spacers and picked up another pair of proline TSLs.
I'm not running a pin through the hex on the outside tires as they spacer/locknut tightness combined with rubber-rubber contact make the outside wheel impossible to turn by itself. I've tested it out quite a bit and it works great!
With the dually portion now done, I started off by chopping the bed off and then lopping the upper part of the honcho cage off to give me a flatbed platform. Here it is with a lexan mockup of the bed and with the truck cab without bed.
I next mounted the cage to the cab and and cut out a thin pinewood flatbed (with a sure handed friends assistance!). I just got it all sanded down and mounted.
The hard work is now done! I still have to build and mount a custom pulling weight box on the front as well as put a short stack coming out of the hood. The pulling weight box is going mount to the stock bumper mounts so I can put the honcho bumper on for trailing and easily switch it to a weight box for truck pulling!
More updates to come as I get the other stuff built.
