Here is a fast and simple way to make a spool for your winch. All you need is:
1. plastic servo saver that fits your servo( I used one from my AX-10 kit,TLT servo saver also works)
2.dremel with a cut off wheel
3.sandpaper to clean us the cuts from the dremel
4.CA glue
First find a plastic servo saver that fits your servo, here I am using one from an AX-10 kit
Next seperate the halves.
On one half cut the litttle tab off so that it is flush.
On the other half....
Cut off the the arm and the edges of the servo including the little tab. When you are done it should look like this...
Now just CA the two halves together and let dry.Drill a small hole on the servo side of the spool to anchor your choice of line.Clean up the dremel cuts with some sand paper.Mount to your servo and there you have it...a 5 minute spool. If you need the spool smaller all you have to do sand it down to the size you need.
