2016 RC4WD Scale Challenge Series - Disney, OK (June 4th-5th)

Wish I could make the trip out there for this one. Its just not in the cards...but I will be in the future.

Calling all the sponsors to get their prize packs and banners to Disney... "thumbsup"

Ok people, I want to know if your NOT coming to this event... why not? Post it up, don't be scared. Is it the cost or the distance away from you? Because in my opinion Oklahoma should be the central hub of rc in this country. Half way from everywhere.

Maybe it's the price? (I'm just saying) it's a little on the expensive side. I don't mind paying for an awesome event like this here in Oklahoma because we need them, bad. But for others the expensive tickets might scare them away. This is one of only two events worth going to in Oklahoma. Crawlapalooza being the other one. ($30 for adults/ $20 for kids under 12yrs.) If people don't show up to this event... what motivation would rc4wd have to come back next year?

I see this as a great opportunity to get together with like minded individuals and have a great time. Something to look forward to all year. Something to build a new rig for. And another great excuse to go to Disney. One of the top 10 crawl spots in the country. IMO.

I can't believe PA. Sold out in like an hour last year, and we can't even fill the bill enough to afford t-shirts. What's the deal?

I agree I met pop rivet last year at this event along with some other good guys,I'd be willing to help people make it to the event depending on what there issue is.this is one of the top 1:1 crawl spurs in the country crawl through it enough that I can guarantee you people that only visit a couple times a year will never see it all we don't even make it over the creek at these events,it is endless for vehicles this small,we could go every week and our toy trucks would never have to see the same spot twice,it's amazing our there. That's why Hogan started it.we need more people even Hogan has told me he enjoys us.

Last night Poprivit kept me up way way to dam late!!! I just went there to pay him for some kickass sliders he made for my sons deadbolt. That turned into him wireing my winch up on the Comanche. Than I started drooling all over his Uncle build. 1 pack of smokes later. We talked about willy wonka and how happy we are to have our golden ticket to Dismey. Hell I wish I could travel to all the great events. The only happyness money can buy you in life is more tiny truck parts. The true joy in life is having your truck pull an amazing line and haveing a bunch of people you just met on the internet see it. :-). The day after crawlapulsa last year I started bugging Jerry about next years tickets. So as long as John puts on this event at Disney I'll be there. Consider this my first request for tickets to next years RC4WD CHALLANGE in Disney ok

I may have missed something but the tickets are sold out. When I checked the t shirts were to. Looks like the event is full. Which event didn't sell out?

I would have to say it's probably the price. 45 for c3 is all I was willing to spend, and a shirt of course, which we aren't getting. I myself, am not going to spend $100 plus, and travel/lodging, to run multiple trucks.

I posted this in last year's event page below. It still holds true. Just not alot of folks in the middle of the country that are into scale comping right now. Alot of folks just don't like all the rules and would rather just trail run. To each their own.
The reason the PA event sells out is almost solely based on a higher population of scale compers on the eastern part of the US.

I wouldn't worry about the numbers, we'll show up and have a good time regardless.

"Unfortantley, I am not surprised. The location is one of the best in the country but the main reason is the number of scale "comp" guys just isn't heavy in the states around Disney.

I figure there will be more spots filled before too long. "

Unfortunately the ticket sales are shut down , Pa sold out I believe but Disney wasn't even close 😢 . Disney is the one place I go to for events because it is simply amazing and the people are great , I wish more people had signed up for the challenge this year (but I know that those of us that did sign up will have a blast as always )

Hopefully John and RC4WD will continue to hold this event in Disney for years to come .

Am I the only one who watches last year's event over and over again! Looking at the rocks the rigs and trying to match people's names to faces, or at least their legs depending on camra angle

As for the money since everything for me is x2 I feel ya! But it's worth it to me!! I'm entered in every event and my boy is entered in all but class 1. Would you rather spend your money on a cruise ship and have that dude catch fire. Sticking you out in the gulf for a week. You don't want to end up in a whataburger add do you!

It will only be a couple more years and everything will be X2 for me as well. I have a 4yo son that just got his first crawler. Picked him up a scx10 deadbolt a couple weeks ago. As for the cruise, I can afford that either. I put to much money in my toys. Lol

I've got a couple ideas of why this isn't as big as it should be, but not participating in last years rc4wd scale event, I should probably keep my opinions to myself. All I know of it is what I've seen in videos and hearsay.

I know for a fact I'll have as much fun as a guy can have while being sober and not under a pile of prostitutes. :ror:
I am bummed about not getting a shirt though. You know the guy that gets all butt hurt and feels the world is against him when he doesn't get a sticker with his order? That's me...

Last year was great. I loved every minute of it. I'm already planning on going next year. I know there was a lot of talk about the class 1 course was way to tough for some close to stock rigs, and the cost and such. But for the most part everybody had a great time. I know last year John opened ticket sales back up closer to the event date. And he might again this year. But hey we will have a great time if it turns out it is just us. Right?

I wanted to make this event it just wasn't feasible for me to drive from Florida, by myself at 24 hours drive time there and back and with my work schedule.. There was no way to be able to make it work unless I had someone(s) riding along.

The hearsay from last year, is just that, hearsay. Yea the course were incredibly difficult and people complained but they were not impossible but it was addressed and this year is going to be much different. Plenty of people completed them in all the classes last year. C3 courses were in my opinion way more difficult than C1 had it.

Is anybody apprised to me checking in at 3:00 and still running class 2 and king of Disney on Saturday?

Because if I can't do that stuff at 3 in the afternoon (that's the earliest I can get there) then I'm not gonna be able to come
