Try to imagine poor reception, 100 at night, no shade, fit people cramping up and fearing hear exhaustion, courses that were harder than anything we had ever seen, if a course could be finished, the heat and sun warmed your parts to breaking points. I personally have never broken parts until this weekend and stuff that broke added serious expense to the weekend. I'll say it now so no one thinks I'm trashing the whole event, JRH couldn't be a nicer guy. He jumped in to help with one of my breaks and didn't stop working until I was fixed. He couldn't have done much better with the conditions. Perhaps some things could have run better but it's his first shot at running an event. So don't be rough on people for not posting. It was way more important to drink, keep trucks, radios, cellphones, batts and your skin out of direct sunlight as much as possible. Covering them with towels or trying to sit in cars for the ac was the priority. I don't know how the top 10 and 1.9/super guys are going to do it today. 3 days in a row of this and I don't think I could consume enough fluid to stay upright. Headed back to Pa so I can rebuild 2 trucks. Meeting the guys from the west coast was great. Meeting C Boggs and the whole 5D group was great and way over due! Hittman, his father Mike and everyone from New Mexico kicked ass. Christian is one of the nicest dudes in the " younger group" of guys I've met. So as far as coverage, here is mine: thankfully the people are still what matters in this hobby. When we all get together, we have each others back and are real friends that will do anything for each other. I don't think this worlds will be remembered for the driving. I think it will be more for the friendships that were forged or strengthened through a rough couple of days. See, that doesn't make for interesting coverage does it? There are tons of guys I want to thank personally and I know I'll miss a ton! Rcp crawlers, all my buds from Canada, Erik D, tapped out and crew, Josh and Sherry Harris, ESP, Charlie at bad Graphix and his whole crew ,Anthony Rivas and everyone that interacted with Liz and I this weekend. Fish, I'm going to beat you next year! I've been looking for motivation to stay in this hobby and keep spending. Beating you has done it. Great to see you and be safe getting home. I am and could go
On forever but all about the people. I'm sure no one cares about that stuff so I'll call it. I'm glad I came and couldn't have done better than I did. Thanks JRH.
