So, this all started out with an AX-10. (Rig on right of picture)

I wanted a little more realism, so I bought an SCX10 conversion (frame and new links) and some Hot Bodies air shocks. I got a lexan Parma Silverado body and painted it blue - though it was way off from the color of my truck.

I stumbled across a RadioShack monster truck on ebay that electronics were broken on and snatched it up for $35.

Painted it with dulpiclor GM color match paint and cleared it. It matches quite well.

Now all that's left to do is to get some decent 1.9 wheels, lower the suspension a bit, and set the rear axle in the wheel wells.

I'll get better pictures of the progress soon.

Oh, and here's the next set of goodies I'm throwing at it :)

And of course the 1:1 inspiration :)

Well, I got the rear links shortened (actually used the stock uppers as lowers and re-used the AX10 uppers with some spacers). The WB is still a tiny bit long so I think I'll shorten the front links because the rear driveshaft can't get any steeper without binding.

I also plan on moving the shock mounts down on the rear axle and up on the front shock hoops to lower the truck a bit and still retain downtravel.

But I think it looks pretty good, even with the 2.2s. I ordered some 1.9 tires last night that will hopefully be a bit smaller and more realistic.

I'll definitely have to trim the front bumper, even with the 1.9s I'm sure.

They're combination battery mounts!

And are plenty strong.

Nice looking truck! Can't wait to see some photos of it outdoors with the 1.9s on.

Trying to find a set of wheels (already ordered 1.9 tires) that will look similar to the 1:1 wheels. Beadlock is okay, but I really like 5-8 solid spoke and silver. Any ideas? Cost is also a factor so, unfortunately I can't go with aluminum wheels, unless someone wants to give me a smokin deal :)

So I got my 1.9 tires mounted to a set of donor rims (my buddy is letting me borrow them for a while). I really love the way it looks from the side, but the stance is still too wide.

Ended up installing softer springs in the shocks and the weight of the body helps settle the truck to a much lower ride height, so I think i'll keep it this way. I'll still have a bit higher ride height with the lexan body and plenty of droop this way

This brings me to my next point. Does anyone know the actual innder diameter of the mounting surface on a set of 1.9" non-beadlocks (I assume its 1.9" but you cant just assume that I suppose)? I'm seriously considering 3D Printing a set of show wheels that have a much higher backspacing and will tuck under the truck better than these do. All of the RC4wd wheels I'm looking at are either really expensive or have too high of negative offset.

How wide is the body?

About 6.5" wide at the fender flares.

look at 1/10 touring car wheels, they are 1.9 and 1.9 tires fit perfect and they come in sorts of offsets."thumbsup"

Yeah I've seen a few, but they're generally quite ugly or boring unfortunately. Since I'll be using the 2.2s and a lexan body for all the actual crawling I do I don't care if they're beadlocks, though, just looks so if I find the right wheel I'll be all over it.
