Check my FJ40 thread I just started in the scale forums. I used a touring car tire to fill the gap. Now I have not yet glued the tires together, but I am pretty confident that it will work.

some where i read somthing about a certain type of imex tire never having been mounted, virgin if you will, will fit on a 1.9. maybe someone knows?

Here is the set my friend MO did, He is going to try to get some better pics "thumbsup"

He sure did, they came out MINT. I am having him make me a set just like his, He has the parts on order (he works at a hobbytown).

He said he is going to try to take some better pics "thumbsup"

thanks Mike, will look forward to the sectioning ones for sure.;-)

yup thats pretty much how i did it (im Mo haha).

i wanted to make my own set because every set i had seen someone else make was too wide and didnt look cool enough tucked up in my highlifts wheel wells.

i used losi thin tire glue and glued the 2 narrow sections together first, then after i had my narrow tire done then i took the section out to take the DIA down. i didnt want to try it before hand because i wasnt sure if both sides would match up in DIA when i went to bond them back together again.

after i was done i ran some IC2000 around the joint allthough i think it would hold up just without it, the rubber will rip before the thin CA bond will. that stuff is like mega death grip glue  .

All the 1.9 rims I tried on my 2.2 Clod did not hold up. The offsets were great, but the hex part wasn't as deep, so thet stripped after a few runs.;-) I'd be interested to find some that would hold up.

Tamiya 2-peice rims. You can also change between 2 offsets. The hex is very thick & encircled by the other piece of the rim.
