I bought this thing when it came out years ago, then they quit selling them. I didnt think it sat low enough, the color was wrong from the orignal 54' Checy that Jesse James had at the time. So what I did was I took the stock bumper skids off, trimmed 1/4" off the body mounts to body drop it then i put 1/4" spacers on the 4 electric motor mounts on the control arms to lower the suspension. I then painted it flat black with a ghost West Coast Choppers logo on the hood, painted the interior black with black valoure on the roof, dash and back deck. Painted the center of the wheels red so it would look just right. It has opening doors, trunk (where i put a hobby grade 9.6v nimh pattery in), and hood where it reveals a motor. It also has front, back, side to side and pancake motion, everyone gets a kick out of it when I am driving it the i drop the rear and drag the bumper where i have 2 screws in to have that metal draging sound. Here are some pics that the local news paper took of it at our local hobby shop's R/C show. I plan on repainting in and putting a scale motor under the hood for a more realistic look and maybe some electronics up grade so it will go faster.

Next to a 1/8 scale buggy

Almost picked up the same car at a flea market in Cut and Shoot, Tx three weekends ago. It is a cool start for sure I wishied I could pick up a 1/6 Chevy Pickup body.

Nice !! I picked up one of those Willy's from TRU years ago. Talk about a billion itty bitty screws to tear down. They came in candy red or blue and I wanted to do flat black. 16" wb, 26" total length. Ditched the bumpers. Doors and trunk open.

thanks, i dont remember who made it. it doesnt say anywhere except west coast choppers but i bought it at walmart so it might be by tycco. but they havent made this one for years, they didnt make it for long either.

Been looking for one of those for YEARS...First saw it at Sprawl Mart like what? 4-5 Years ago? REALLY hard to find. I keep my eye out for them though. I wanted one to build scale like ladder frame, motor up front, leafed live rear axle, the whole shebanggity bang. Still building it in my head, just waiting and praying I come up on one of those bodies...

First off to the OP, nice good looking ride. Would love to build something like that but with an old chopped and cut Merc. body. Sorry, not trying to thread jack.

Second, to Chip Cross, Cut-N-Shoot? I grew up there! How did you like it, or just passing through? Not much really there, even now with all of the growth that's going on.

i own a full scale 1 to 1 bagged 54 chevy and i am looking every where for the jj chevy can anyone tell me where i can find one, i live in europe now so no luck of finding it here, let me know guys i appreciate it "thumbsup"

Ive got one of these laying around too.Did the same bodydrop mod to it. painted the wheels red after buring up the stock electronics on 11.1 I took the electronics out and modded the motor plate to fit a castle 5700 hooked it up to a sidewinder on 3s. Use the stock air setup it had and wired them into an old servo. Threw a little patina on it mounted some magnesium blocks under the rockers. Had to wrap the tires with some treads from a touring car tire to get any traction. Heres some pics and vids.

question about the 1/6 West coast choppers '54 chevy

i bought one of these back in 2005, played with it for a week or two and then it has been just sitting since then. it worked fine then but now the hyrdualics will not work and it will will only intermittently go forward and reverse. i've charged the 9.6v battery pack several times and put new batteries in the controller, but still no luck. Any ideas as to what is going on with it? thanks!
