the welds on that front bumper look kinda messy but i did what i could to shorten it and welded a winch plate in as well, its tucked way in from where it was. I think it should be a removable bumper IMO"thumbsup"

but all in all this turned out pretty good i think!!

oh yeah one more thing...

I even added light mounts on top in case you want lights someday!!

Im leaving it up to you Dustin to mount the aluminum plate i made.. you can use it or not use it, either way it will work great as a bed for rec. use.!!

in the MZ logo plate there are 2 holes, thats where i would secure the plate, just punch 2 holes and done. Then you can screw through that box and mount it to the plate also"thumbsup"

yeah but I was thinkiing, shes gettin really heavy quik so thats why i made it in aluminum, it will bolt down.. i can bolt it down if you like.

I could weld a steel sheet back there but it would take a lot more work to do so, and its a PITA to weld that sheet to 3/16, it melts quik, and it would be a LOT more weight.

also what happens is it makes a mess with weld splater and I cant get to any of it with a grinder now so if i make a mistake it a real PITA to fix.

the aluminum is good and will look good once its bolted..;-)

so stay?"thumbsup"

Very nic work Axialjeepster. Makes me wish I had a welder. Do you use a mig or a tig for that kind of work?

I like to use my cheapy ol trusty ol crappy ol great ol Gas-less .30 MIG welder for this small stuff, get a bit messy sometimes but really works well!

bought this atHarbor Freight a couple years back for $85.00 with 3 year warranty for 20 more..

cant beat that price and they still have them and find them on ebay for around 115.00 or so shipped"thumbsup"

so get one!

I also have a Lincoln gas mig. but its set-up for large material. THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENT!! means a lot!

Nice bed work...and the bruiser style front clip is awesome. Digging it. "thumbsup"

that we are changing, it is pretty cool but its getting a trim down, its too far above the hood and adding tube fenders/armor and some flat bar to the bumper"thumbsup"

still a bit of work to do, ill get back at it first thing tomorrow and update"thumbsup"

and thank you very much

I'm STOKED! you got me out hunting down some virgin terrain to run this sucker on.. I thinking about doing some hardcore urban crawling with this baby!

Theres a HUGE homeless camp in st. pete beach,
I should shoot a video running the truck with my bum hommies!:flipoff:

away with that crap outDIVE that comes in the axial trans, i cant count how many I broke back in the day b4 i went to the steel HR gears..

HR is the better of the gears you can put in the axial trans, stronger than RR by far, lighter, and much less cost"thumbsup"

bring the BEEF!

built front clip armor, and modded the bumper that was on it already, just a hack job is all, cut it down in half.

Then, since im a Washintonian (tree hugger) I like to recycle, soo i re-used the cut off bumper and made a bed mount for the floor pan of the bed, which is made of aluminum plate, then drilled and tapped holes there and in the sliders for the body so its all tapped, no nuts needed."thumbsup"

also added a custom derlin winch fairlead as a bonus!! So this thing is decked out with sliders, frnt rear bumpers and full armor, flat bed and even light bar!!,

Ahh, this is what you meant by diver flat bed!! For some reason, I kept thinking trailer and couldn't find it lol!
Awesome work Ryan! Really love that flat bed style and look like ya nailed it dead on compared to the pics of the 1.1!
This is such a cool build thread cuz I can relate to being homeless once myself with nothing but the clothes on my back...it sucks!
I just noticed something else...are those my pitbulls/titus wheels you use for mock up lol?? Nice to see them on this rig:thumbup:
I'm sub'd to this one!!

This thing reminds me of a crowd killer.. lol BEASTY ! The front end looks like it can take a hell of a tumble rocky hell hill and come out unscathed. This is gonna be a fun truck to finish up!

Woooooooo........
Damm D" U & your flat bed..... Nice........

Lue, you know how I roll... Flat and Phat!:afro:

are you gonna do the tire carrier?
the flat bed turned out really good..

I think we're leaving the tire carrier out, It's heavy already.. As cool as the carrier is I dont think the extra weight in the rear will be beneficial in a comp at all..
