I wonder if it’s just not strong enough, and that’s where it ends up. My Futaba and vanquish dig work well with a full sized servo as recommended by VP.
Doesn’t make sense to me as my dig was simple to set both switches to work as needed
It's more than strong enough...it's equal to, if not somewhat better (and slightly stronger) than the Spektrum SX107 Axial/Horizon Hobby recommends. As for the switch settings, those are correct, as shown by the DT switch correctly controlling a standard servo that I plugged into Ch4. Besides, as I mentioned, while the (less powerful) Traxxas micro servo also wouldn't function on Ch4 (DIG), it did function on Ch1 (steering). It's just "strange" that the Traxxas unit also doesn't work on Ch4, but it does work on Ch1.
Unless I receive suggestions to try from John, or other people in here, I might have to wait until the replacement arrives. I did find the Spektrum SX107 (I had temporarily misplaced it), but don't have time to test it out today...that will have to wait until tomorrow, or Tuesday (which is also when the replacement Hitec should arrive). I'm also expecting a callback from one of AMain's techs tomorrow morning, after he talks it over with one of the other techs (who wasn't in on Friday) who's supposedly quite familiar with the 7PX.
As much as I don't want to use it, if the Spektrum unit works, and the replacement Hitec doesn't, even though the Spektrum is only rated up to 6V, I may keep it...tho, running it at 7 4V will probably shorten its life (at $15, if I have to replace it every 6-12 months, so be it...at least until I can find a strong enough digital micro servo that is rated for 7.4V).
