GT3B Hack Question and Answer Thread

No, it will still be a 70/30 throttle. That is a mechanical system.

You can do tank steering by assigning the DIG mix to channel 1. The steering wheel becomes the mix adjuster and lets you turn left/right.

What are you doing with the steering servo?

I’m getting a blizzard snowcat and would like to use the gt3c to run it with dual ecs and motors could you explain how to set it up for tank steering

There is currently no way todo what your want.

But, I took a quick glance at the code and I think I can make it so when you also activate 4 wheel steer, you can control an auxiliary servo with the steering wheel.

I might have some time next week to test this idea.

Did you get a chance to try this?

Hi,
I have smoke generator with separate esc.
It will mount to truck with sound system also.
My question is, if I can setup my hacked GT3C for this function:
- Connect smoke generator and sound engine generator to channel 4 (Y-cable)
- Possibility to start sound for engine and smoke generator with special key
(CH3 trim) and adding it by 10% etc
- mixing ch4 (sound + smoke) with throttle (ch2) - it mean, motor (sound) and smoke already started and if I go forward smoke and sound will increase...

Is it possible this setup and How I can do it?
Or if not, what is the possibilities for best setup for almost the same?

Thanks a lot
Michal

Is there a way to use two channels for steering? As in a way to use two channels to two steering servos for a summit without a Y-splitter.

Any ideas or ways to do this?

Scroll to E.Point, Press and hold enter
Scroll to d, press enter
Scroll to CH1, press and hold enter
Press back/end a few times.

No, I thought we determined the firmware mod still wouldn't work for you?

Why do you want manual control of the sound/smoke?

Sure, activate the 4ws mix.

Why do you want manual control of the sound/smoke?

For starting and then running sound and smoke generator without moving the wheels.
Mixing two ESC can be use for it, Am I right?
Best setup for it?

Thanks

Sure, activate the 4ws mix.

4ws would work but if I bump a switch or someone else bumps a switch then I have two burnt up servos. Is there a way to run the 4ws setup but have no switches on it? I tried this with CH8 to adjust an Mx aux wire but as soon as I left the trim settings part it went back to zero so I set it up on the end button so it would have a place and then it held.

I'll try a few things today and see, maybe there is something I can set up similar to the tank drive/steering setup?

Yes you can mix two esc's but there's no good way to offset one of the channels to bump up the smoke/sound when stopped.

Just turn on the mix. The mix doesn't need a switch. It will always be an even mix so the servo's work together.

Thank you I got it all set up trigger for forward and revers and the wheel reverses the inside track for turning. I had it working and then I messed something up so I had to start a new model.

All right I give up. First thanks to the people who posted in this thread and losikid for the videos.

So I hacked a GT3c last night, had some connection issues and ironed them out after 3 hours:lmao:.

This morning I set out to get this thing working the way I need it, manual in hand. I successfully got my channel 3 set up for a 2-speed transmission. Was feeling pretty good about this and then I moved on.

Yep, no didn't move on screwed all types of things up found the global reset and start over. Got channel 3 back. Set the number of channels to 6.

Now I'd like to turn the ch3 trim into a channel to rotate a servo back and forth like the steering. What I have is a gun turret that I would like to rotate the stop when I let go of the button, then rotate the opposite direction when I hit the other side of the trim. It doesn't need to center on its own.

I don't think we decided it wouldn't work. I should be able to activate the 4ws without affecting the dig mix, right?

Thank you I got it all set up trigger for forward and reverse and the wheel reverses the inside track for turning.

It's the same as DIG mix but using the steering wheel to control biasing. So you just slow down one track or the other.

How does the inside track reverse if you are using DIG? You would never DIG with a reverse...

Does this help? (page 2)

If it controlled by a servo then use BAR (Buttons-AutoRepeat) and set a set rate of like 1 or 2. Then as you click/hold it will move it around

Want to start off by saying great work on the firmware, and all your help in this thread. Been reading this thread for what seems like hours now trying to find someone else has tried to setup a winch like I want to.

Thinking dig mix might be the way I need to go, tho maybe there's a better way.

My idea,
Three position control, in - off - out.

Button on - off... On would mix the same direction of the throttle. So that way as you apply throttle the winch goes in, and of course out when you reverse.

Is it possible ? Thanks

Sorry for not reading through 235 pages but can you buy one of these set up for the
trx-4? If you can how would I buy one ready to go and how much? Thanks

I have seen a few YouTube videos of guys showing how they have them setup. Tho haven't seen anyone have a preconfigured version for sale. Prolly have to get a controller with the firmware, then set the settings to your rig

Hi!
I have a problem to hack my GT3B
When I connect the programming board and want to write the new firmware, the software tells me that it's protected and I can do nothing.
Is there a solution?
And does flysky block all of its remotes now?
I suppose I'm not the one to ask those questions, but there is too many pages to find the answer
