A Yeti for the Alllgäu or my little monster

They always get loose. Mine are getting loose as well. I just check them after and before every run and tighten them. I also check wheels when running and in case I see any wobbling wheel I check nuts as first thing. Thei are either loose or axle shaft is bent :-D
never bend an axle, i break them [emoji48]

i will check some options, maybe i find a solution for the loose wheels.
first will be 2 nuts...
and i will order few different nuts to test..... on next orders[emoji41]

Why are you still running pin drive hubs? Get rid of that garbage and run hex drive.
I love my Pin mounted Hubs, no play between Hub and Hex.[emoji41]

And Hex mounted Hubs won't solve the Problem of getting loose locknuts. Only thing is that the issue is not so important.

If it's rubbing on a bearing or anything else it can cause issues. I get rubbing on my rear lock outs and every once and a while the nuts will be a bit loose, I can only assume the pin drive is doing the same thing but worse since you have two pieces of metal in close contact. It could just be needing fresh nuts either way, but I've seen many strange things happen when stuff rubs together

I have no Lockout cause of i have ssd wide Diamond axle in the rear. never had issues rubbing against bearing with my Hubs.
And the gpm are working perfect with the 11 mm axial Pins.
I will order serrated nylock nuts and several others.
And test 2 nuts.....

I think i found the nut problem....
The ones i used where serrated but have no nylock.....
next week back home i will check this.
Also some replacements and new upgrads to install waiting .

I'm just thinking about the hot racing adjustable steering rack.
Hot Racing Axial Yeti RC Car upgrades and Hop-ups
Any one uses this and can tell how the adjustable range is on this?
could it adjust to nearly lock?

Back home replacement and New Upgrades arrived
Inssion front vdi
Vanquish Caster Blocks
Ssd rear trailing arm[emoji41]
That's today work

Don't bother with the Yeah Racing serrated nuts, while they are serrated and grab they do not have nylon internal locking so they come loose and fall right off. They were a waste of money. Stick with the nuts with the nylon locking and serration.

Unfortunatly no testing this week.
After put replacements in.
I found another breakeage, caused by my loosen Lock Nut issue.

The Pin killed my Hub

After arrival of new ones.
I faced the next issue.
Most of the screws that came with the rims a rounded on my wheels.
I recommend never use the gpm screws that came with the parts[emoji15]
Ordered New ones from rc-schrauben, but have to get the bad ones still out. [emoji24]
Next time.....

here some weights

from left to right
vodoo klr 2.2 gold on ssd rockracer with ci dd 6.0 comp cut medium front firm rear
axial wildpeak on kit methods / gpm alu with ci dw standard front kit tire rear after market which is lighter than stock.
i was impressed that the new combo is lighter than old one.

after changing to the incission vdi. i have an issue on full turn right the rotation stops and makes a nasty sound before it continue to rotate. it sounds like “klack“. i don't see any rubbing on full right turn. any idea?. no issues on full left turns.

i found out what was wrong regarding the turning issue. i mounted my tbr a-arm skids wrong. too far out so on full turn the skid rubbed on tire inner side.

On the first outing with the new shoes[emoji6] , i had the issue that the tire was sliding sideways over the foam inside. this was caused by the wider width of the rockracer wheels.
so i ordered ci tuning discs. i used one on the outside per tyre, and now the sliding is gone.
i also ordered a few spare parts, like gpm front axle (no issue with the in incisions just in case), for testing vanquish shock adjuster, bearings .....

Also i couldn't resist to get gpm link mounts, need more green [emoji48]

Love this thread, keep up the good work!
thanx.

Still working on videos. Cuting isn't easy. Finished the first one, will upload it the next days.

Today i went out for trail crawling on an Mountainbike downhill track near by.
For that i use my tbr roof to mount my action cam on it. Cam mount is doubletaped and screwed to the roof. Roof and Base hold well, but the case of my cam not [emoji48] .

A few pictures

At the end Yeti car wash you can see the rest of the cam case[emoji4]
