Trent Fab Ultra 4 / KOH buggy

I finally got the chassis sand blasted and painted with some Rustoleum epoxy stainless steel colored kitchen appliance paint, but not before adding a mount for the rear sway bar and front and rear bump stops and my pan hard and servo mount. Also made my rear lower links but plan on making some adjustments to keep them from twisting and then make the front lower ones. As most people will notice I haven't brazed any nuts to the chassis for the paneling , thats because I plan on drilling and tapping m2 holes in the chassis and using scale hex bolts. I also have a few other tricks up my sleeve which i'll reveal in the future.






 
Lookin pretty swank brazing looks so much cleaner then mig welding the tubes. I think the next build I do I will weld all the back joints and raze the outers to get that clean look. All my welds need to be cleaned up and starting to dread that part for my trent fab chassis. Hurry up lol I want to see some video of this rig performing

Thanks , your rig is looking good as well ! I wish I had a mig so I could tac them into place before brazing and would make for a quicker and easier build, then I wouldn't have to worry about tubes moving from heat being applied from new tubes getting brazed in place. Good luck with the grinding.

Thanks again Doc ! My rig may look good but probably won't perform as well as yours. Good luck with changing over your front end too, looking forward to seeing more vids of it running in U4RC events ! As far as my panels go they should be done in the next few weeks, I'm waiting for my m2 tap to come in the mail.
 
Just so you know, a guy named Dan who work at trent fab owns that car,
Derek did not really like chassis design until it was almost done. They are out of reno nv. And I really like the looks of rig. I went up there just after build was done and got to sit in it. WOW awsome rig. It has like 800hp so it has to be brushless!!!

Thanks Hacksaw ! The bump stop mounts aren't exact to the 1:1 but are as close as I was willing to get them and I do plan to put something in them and put them to use .

It's definitely one of my favorite looking buggies for sure . Lucky SOB ! I'd love to get to sit in that monster, but a ride in it would be better !

Thanks Bulldog ! It definitely looks a lot better since it got sand blasted and no longer looks like someone splooged on it .
 
1/4" brakeline, interesting... This things turning out sweet! The trent fab rigs are sick.

Thanks a lot dirk , means a lot coming from you and your mean building skills and attention to detail. I've seen a few others use 1/4" brake line before and it scaled out fairly well for the larger size of the rig and I was able to use 3/16" for other spots on the chassis that was a smaller diameter like the 1:1.
