Diverging Diamond Interchange

That looks alot better than what they are planning to do here this summer. They will finally be widening out a bypass road and turning stuff over to some "Superstreet"...It looks like a clusterfawk

Here's a video i found of what it is going to look like

Heres a pic of a recent article showing it also..

I haven't actually worked on one like this yet but have seen studies on them. The whole point is to try and get rid of left turns that are opposing the thru movements. It is good concept for effeciency but I think they look dumb as hell.

10' off street multi-use path runs along one side

Can you please come and design some of the roads out here?? They are redoing the intersection right here where I work. It was dangerous before, and so far it looks like it's going to be worse. I ride through there regularly in the summer to get to work.......hope I'm still alive by this time next year.

For being such a cycling and outdoor oriented state, Colorado really blows it sometimes when if comes to designing roads.

There is a major need in my area also. Recently the highway in my area was extended so some sections were built from scratch. Does not appear to me like traffic flow was even a consideration. There are several places where 2 lanes merge into 1 with with vehicles trying to get on and off the highway in the same area. To top it off the merging areas are very short.

Haha! I have to drive through a jacked up area everyday when I leave work. The civil engineer who designed this must have been high that day:

That's right....two exit ramps from different freeways and one entrance ramp all lead into one lane...all within about a hundred yards....and right next to one of the most popular malls in this area.

Or you could be like the idiots here in Seattle and put a convention center right over the top of the interstate right in the middle of downtown...

Will these signs and the confusion get any better with your expertise?
