1/6 Scale Nylint Crawler

Got Rocks? said:
thats awsome you need to make more vids
I am going to take a video of my 1/18th scale Scorpion running at our San Carlos crawl spot where we run the TXT's and TLT's. It was so much fun out there!

God thing you put the RCC banner in the video

Don't worry, I'll make an even better video and stick the banner in. I'll do it tomorrow.

Send me a clear uncluttered image of the green RCCrawler logo up top with a black back ground if you can

Welcome to the Forums!!

I think a 1/18 4 wheel steer kit would be awesome! I am sure that it would be something good to have installed on my truck just incase things get really bad on the rocks...
What else do u have in mind as upgrades? Are they only going to availabe thru the site or are they going to be in Wal-Mart also? I had to make a trip all the way from South-Eastern Indiana all the way to Tellico, North Carolina area to get one of them.

I picked up the 1:6th scale the other day finally ran it last night for a few.
This thing is pretty sweet right out of the box.
I wish it had more ground clearence though.
Really considering some e-maxx axles and trans.
That would give it the ground clearence it needs.
The steering servo is a little weak. I am looking
forward to seeing some mods.

Personally, I wouldn't care about a 4WS kit. To be completely honest, the 1:18 I picked up is for fun. I don't really want to invest alot of money into it. I may swap some hobby electronics into it and swap for some taller tires, but that'd be about it, and I'd use stuff I already have. The truck is a blast and the only thing I really see it needing is a solution to the steering motor pinion gear slipping on the motor shaft (starts happening after about 10-15minutes) and the springs being too stiff.

Otherwise its a solid product, perfect for kids/families.

Tell me, are people able to order parts that break? I've heard gear grinding noises (only when the tires are bound up) and I just want to know if I toast a gear in the gear down units that I will be able to replace it no problem.

heres a nother pic of mine

Those pics of the GI pulling over the jeep are too funny :D Takes me back to the good old days of playin GI Joe...YO JOE!!

i went and drove mine again and am impressed at some of the climbs it can make it was well worth the 150 dollars

I went out with Sparky J and we did some testing with this thing. We both took turns driving it and could not run the battery down at all. I'd guess we put over 2 hours of hard driving on it.

We were both amazed at what this thing could do. Right before I left we were talking that at any cost, out of the box this is the best production crawler you could buy. I would put it up against a stock clod, txt, or anything, anyday. Working on some more pics now.

It pretty much went whereever my Snake Spotter wanted me to go

Would you say that if the other truck's had locked diffs? Well, not the Clod... so the TXT.

But at that price point, $150, there isn't a decision to be made. That's pretty sweet.

I question the durablility.

The tires work very well, and both Sparky and I are trying to figure out how to get Bender to make us some adapters so we can run them on our clods ;-)

Yes I would put it against a clod or txt even if you locked the diffs on those. 1. This has a much better wheelbase. 2. It has a lot lower gearing.

The only bad thing I can find about this so far is the clearance under the diffs isn't that great. To offer the selectable gearing in these they had to make the diffs pretty big.

As far as durability goes, so far so good. It seems to be holding up well, I did manage to rip the skid plate off of the front diff, but that needed to come off anyways
