My first post and my first build lol Jeep Wrangler unlimited body ;-)
Ok so this is everything I purchased for the build well most of it atleast
Ok so let's get started. I began with a honcho scx10 chassis and axels.
So my jeep I wanted it to be off road looking and sticking with the apocalypse theme so I figured what better way then bucket lights, so I purchased some of axial's universal 3 bucket light bar. And test mounted them to the roof
After receiving my rc4wd roof rack I decided I didn't like the hight of the light bar so I made some adjustments to make them level to the rack
This is the after I adjusted it
So next I threw on the jk recovery bumper from rc4wd and mounted the winch and bucket lights to it.
On the chassis as you can kinda see I through on metal steering links and the classis mounted servo mount from level3
I need more lights lol. So why not cowl lights right!
I also put some fab keys on and purchased fender wells front and back from knight customs on shape ways
Here is the modification I had to do in order or fit them with the fab keys
Sorry still learning how to post and the easiest way of doing so lol any ways carrying on. I also wanted to do side markers for night runs.
As well as a sweet snorkel from knight customs as well I think this was a great addition
I didn't like the silver from the Pan hard lot so I decided I would paint it black
Finished product
Finally I think it's time to paint!
Blood splatter of course because zombie apocalypse duh!
Couldn't just be on the hood I needed it on the sides as well
Surprise lol I ordered some paint masks just for the theme Wooo this is gonna be freaked awesome!
And yes I painted the blood splatter to the inside so it won't crape off over time.
I ended up painting the body a gray because looking at our group San Antonio Crawlers no one really had a grey rig and plus the grey just looks nice on it. Took me a good week to decide the paint and how to do the splatter affects. I have a box full of plastic pieces from different items just to use as test templets. And I'm so glad I did that instead of trying a one shot attempt.
For the interior I wanted to paint everything different colors or shades instead of keeping it all one color and relying on the decals to put color into it
Making the seats at two tone design was a pain in the butt, but glad I did it
This is my finished product
For the body I absolutely hate body pins so I decided to ask around and see how other individuals were completing the mission, I got told a lot about Velcro and magnets so I decided to use both. It gets the job done but my fear is a roll over is going to send my body flying but we will see
Next It was time to add the decals or parts of the decals like seat belts and cup holders and the trunk decals
I saw from some one else on here how they did a light up gps and instrument cluster so I gave it a shot
And it came out pretty good
Last step was the steering wheel and the gear stick then it was time to piece it all together
