Hello I've been having this question for a while now so here we go: I really like the rc4wd trailfinder 2 but it comes with yota axles wich are "locked" are there any "open" diffs availlable for these axles? I wasn't able to find them on the rc4wd website. sorry if my English isn't perfect.

Thank you very much guys :) those links explain alot and I think I'm able to do this mod. However I was wondering. Are there any axles that are the same size and look the same as the yota axles yet already have open diffs or can be equipped with a "drop-in" open diff meaning no mods are needed.

Hate to resurrect an old thread but who can help with this in 2024? unfortunately, scale4x4 is no more

You would have to remove the locker and ring gear, see if they separate, or are they a single unit ?
What do the ends of the axle shafts look like?
You could possibly use an off the shelf part for a 1/12 or 1/14 vehicle. Make your own an option?

They are one piece

I wish to know if someone has done it before and it seems so.

Im too lazy to pull my set down from storage, but just looked on rc4wd's site and a few other olaces but couldnt fi d the toth count for R&p what os it?
So now how much room is inside the housing?
What is the distance between bearings?
Diameter of ring gear?
Have you tried test fitting any diffs yourself?

There's minimal room and screws for the diff cover. I'm not asking for ready to fit parts. I know it is a challenge. Just need a direction to go because I can't afford to ruin an housing

I just looked at an empty housing, diff cover and the 3rd member. I cant see how it is possible ti fit a geared differential into that small of a space. Maybe thise boom racing brx... axles have what youre looking for

That's the problem: lack of clearance. That's why I'm curious about what has done on the build of Scale4x4.

I really don't want to change axles. I did my whole LC70 build around yotas

Hey, mee too! Im building a lc70 on yota axles.

No, no build thread. But i do have the interior, door and hood kit. Sometime, sometime.
