Will a fast-back II chassis work for my ridgecrest??

I sold one a bit earlier, and show one left. Not sure why your iPad isn't working.

Yeah..I'm not sure cause the website seems inactive on my ipad and I don't have access to my computer right now so I'll check my phone real quick and update you on that. I really need to get that chassis before there sold out.

Okay there in stock, thanks to my android phone I was able to open it and saw the black one is in stock. (Stupid ipad!). Don't worry guys I'm going to order it later today. I'm going to make some body panels out of Lexan or some stainless steel but that will be the last thing. Where is a good place to get materials for the links? (What store?) I prefer going to lowes, autozone, and some other random hardware stores for links. Hmm..let's just wait and see until the chassis gets here then I'll get them measured up and yes I will put pictures on this thread. Stay tuned guys because the build will be on this thread with pictures and stuff..please give me time because I'm on vocation and will be home friday to start posting some pics!

Alright guys the U.G.C. F.B. 2 chassis (black) has been ordered and is on its way! This build will go through and will be a slow build, I would enjoy it for all of you to stay with this thread cause it will be awesome. I won't make a new thread so I'll just stay with this one,I'll update you guys soon! - axial 4x4 crawler

Here is a mock-up of what it will look like:

Sorry it took me so long to upload pictures, I just got back from vacation and I took a whole night messing around with the links and shocks. Anyways, this chassis is amazing. This is the best chassis I have ever seen, thank you C-HUD! I think the links work well and I am going to move on to the next stage and that will be the transmission and axles. I'll do the electronics last and I plan on putting a tekin pro 45t motor in it and it should fit cause it is a open endbell motor (I did a little research last night). I'll be ordering transmission parts next week, sorry for the delay guys. - axial 4x4 crawler

Note: I will be changing the shocks out to either traxxas modified internal shocks or some Losi shocks. I really don't like the fact that the shocks on there now are plastic so that's why. And I will be changing the diff covers over to vanquish because those Hot Racing ones look cheesy on the black color.
- I will be making this mostly black and it will be named "The Black Pearl" when I get the body panels but that will be in a while.lol. I want this to be under 5 pounds and I think a small 2s will be able to fit on the front axle (I'll just have to relocate the servo or make a custom mount somehow haha).

Looks great! I miss mine already!

If the shocks work, dont waste the money on aluminum. I know several folks that run plastic shocks and they are VERY competitive drivers!

Thank you!:ror: Yeah you're right, I'll stay with the stock shocks and those shocks have the xr-10 extra soft springs. It's coming together, I'm going to lowes now to look at body panels..I'm kinda curious about getting stainless steel panels. Right now it weighs 4.6lbs so I'd like it to stay around 5-5.5 lbs after it's all put together. I'm going to mount the electronics up front, that plate on the upper links is temporary until I get stainless steel. Also, I'd like to get some aluminum wheels just for looks but I'm not sure.lol. Stay tuned. - axial 4x4 crawler

I have the Copper top and hood panels for mine. If you want them, I'll sell them cheap

That's cool..I'll think about cause last night I cut out some aluminum plates and there painted now (matte black) but I'll PM you if I decide to buy them. But I spent 23.00 on a good sheet of aluminum and I kinda want my crawler to be blacked out. But thank you:ror:

Alright here's an update of what I ordered today:

- Tekin fx-r with pro hand-wound 45t
- R.R. alum. 15t pinion (needed to replace the one I already had)
- deans connectors
- VP diff covers
- RR solid steel gear
-RR idler steel gear

Soon to come:
- 3s battery
- battery mount for axle (can't figure that out!)
- electronics plate (will be mounted on upper links)
- some other alum upgrades

Just to mention, I already have a BEC and extension wire ready so all I'll have to do is solder the new esc up and drop in the transmission. I'm going to make the electronics plate out of aluminum so then it will look nice and be much stronger than Lexan. I'm pretty sure I can make a battery plate for the front axle, I've been looking around at batteries and found a few that will work but there lower mah rating. Ahh..I tell ya, my wallet is empty now.lol. I'll get some pics up of the body panels I made, bare with though I takes a while to upload pictures. Update you guys soon! - axial 4x4 crawler

Alright guys I've done a few things to the ridgecrest while I am waiting on the new parts to come in so here they are:

Got the body panels done but there not mounted yet and the electronics plate is done as well but not painted (mounted on the upper links):

I swapped out servo's with my wraith, I think this could use the extra torque, eh?:ror:
View attachment 286853

The reason why I switched servos between my wraith and ridgecrest is because my wraith needed something faster and less torque while the ridgecrest needed more torque so to save money that's what I did. I am still having a problem figuring out where the battery will mount. The tires turn really far with the universals and the battery won't fit on the front axle unless I mount it on top of the servo but that would look weird. I don't have the money or time to make a new servo mount so I'm going to have to figure this out soon. Any suggestions? I plan on getting a small GForce 1300mah 3s battery. Thanks, - axial 4x4 crawler

By the way, I will be upgrading to vanquish pro comp bead-lock wheels in a couple of months. I like the look of the DH Pro comp 2 in black with orange rings, that will look so cool on the orange/black theme. I will either use a 460 hub or a 585 hub, I'll e-mail vp about that cause I have never used VP wheels before. And of course I will get weights for those beadlocks but keep in mind that the beadlocks are "the cherry on top" kind of thing.lol. Once I figure out where the battery can mount I can start doing some more work...

The battery mount on the AR60 was a challenge for me as well.
I think the Rowdy racing battery holder could be made to fit & work as well as a plate & strap.
Looking good!
I really like the Dinky S mount axle servo mount. D Luxx has some cool new ideas for the AR60 axles

Thank you!:ror: I'll look into those battery plates, does that dinky mount relocate the servo? If so then I might be able to fit a new battery plate on there but that's only if the servo can be relocated. Now let's say if it doesn't then I'll keep looking into this and go from there. I will do a little more research as well, This sure is a hassle!lol. - axial 4x4 crawler

Yes it moves it down & over.

It is steel, I always thought welding a plate on one side would get an axle mount battery with dinky s

That looks awesome..only problem is that I can't find this mount. I looked all over google..no luck. Well I wonder what to now. I might post in the wanted section..it won't hurt to do it haha. All the parts you suggested are out of stock! So....I might be out of luck.

Forget google, search threads here. Look in the vendor section here.
Patience grasshopper.
I have spent 5 times as much time (literally) searching & reading as I have wrenching. The more time you spend learning the less you have to do again.
