Which motor should I run for my scx10

Considering HH esc and maybe brushless motor for my Ascender, how would this motor be on 2s?

Should be great on 2s in an Ascender. I ran a ROC 412 3100 on 2S in my Ascender before going 3s brushed (Crawlmaster 16T), and it was a very nice setup. The HH stubby would be even better than the ROC 412. Maybe 3S geared down. Add in the 2-speed and you'd have a monster.

Another vote for Holmes...
I picked up a brushed Torquemaster Sport 30t for my wraith. For $25 how could I say no? Fantastic motor for crawling (even being a 3 slot) with enough wheel speed for my loose hill climbs. Its not fast enough to jump in the usual sense but it'll pull the tires up for sure. I run on 3s, geared 56/11. And if/ when the wraith does go brushless in the future, the SCX10 will be getting a sweet hand-me-down. 8)

Lemme plug one of my 2s packs in tonight and play around, I cant imagine it's going to be terrible. I generally run 3s packs though.

I'll be going with a BLE in my C1 build, probably with a Stubby Puller.

I'm usually a 3S guy, but for simplicity I've been running mostly 2S in my Ascender.

@Alpine4x4, looking forward to your input.

@New2rocks, thanks for input too.

I didn't get to it last night, was too busy watching the Hawks smear the 49ers:lmao: I'll have time tonight for sure to do some quick testing. Tomorrow I will be doing a shakedown run on my new mods and I'll bring a 2s pack to compare side by side on an actual trail.

I made it 5 minutes on 3s before my plastic 32p spur grenaded, so no test run:lmao::ror: Steel backup is on the way.

Impressive, I've beat on mine and managed to take out the stock idler gear but my plastic 48p spur is still holding strong.

It's a few years old and was well worn. I was rock bouncing a climb and it let go when all four tires made contact with the rock face again:lmao: It was the weakest link since everything else is metal. Next I figure are the stock lockers...

32 pitch spur and pionion all the way! Yes, stock diff gears and lockers next! lol

It lasted for awhile on brushed, the PP was just too much for it:ror:. HR 36p 56t on the way to replace it. Dif gears up front are upgraded, rears are stock.

So I ordered a crawlmaster pro combo yesterday. Initially ordered the 20t but after talking to the guy who answers the phone (super cool and helped me thru all my noob questions and showed much patience, A+ for customer service for sure) got convinced to go with the 16t since the whole crawlmaster pro line up will have good start up. Did I make the right choice? Got a 10.7" wheel base j2 skeleton chassis. I don't need top speed, just need it to not fall behind walking pace when I'm trailing and have enough oomph to get up a loose hill if/when I encounter one. Stick with the 16t or switch back to the 20t? (Even better hopefully they already shipped so I can no longer change it and worry about it) anyone who has experience with the 16t and 20t's or John Holmes himself is always nice. All opinions would be greatly appreciated

Don't overthink it. The 16T is a great motor. If you don't think you have enough low speed control with it, it's you, not the motor. If top end is too much for you, drop your pinion, lower your end point, or just don't squeeze the trigger all the way, lol.

Thanks! Guess ima just enjoy it and not over think it. One of the best answers I got. Simple but to the point. Appreciate it
