start with a set of box stock axial rocksters.

now these are cheap as sin and ok for a beginner beadlock, the easy strip hardware provided leaves much to be desired to say the least, but i have a solution.

chuck them up with a stub axle and 12mm hex in the drill press and get to cutting. i have a cross-slide vise, but i'm too cheap to buy actual cutting bits, so i just used a mini screwdriver in the vise. if all goes according to plan (not all on fire and melty) then you'll end up with these.

so cut some 3/4" spacers out now. i have about 15 ft of 1/4" delrin tube sitting around, and a couple hundred 4-40 bolts as well. so i drilled out the face sections and rings, then threaded the tube to 4-40, and bam. spreader style wheels on the cheap. weight in at 1.5oz each, and i can tighten the rings down solid now.

the 3/4" spreaders make for a wheel just a hair over 1 inch wide.

Cut and Shut Swampers
Grip Fab 2.2 Hoopty Pros wheels
Rogue Elements Knock Off's
RC4WD Scale Hardware (not finished yet, gonna switch to Locked Up hardware)
