Just a few pics of my VS410 Ultra set up for Sorrca Class 1 competition. I originally used it mostly as the kit came out of the box and attempted to get as many scale points as possible using the Origin halfcab lexan body.

I've now reworked it using a styrene body, scale points are now maxed out (actually have a couple spare points). Seems to be a lower cg as compared to when I tried to set up to class 1 specs using the Origin halfcab body. Wheelbase is shorter by necessity to fit with the Tamiya F350 body.

Man, that looks great! Very clean looking build!"thumbsup"

Do you have any pics with the body off?? Need to see more!:)

Thanks Brian! I don't have any other pics but I'll get some and post them later.

Here's some pics with body off. I'm still tweaking a couple things...I need to make some metal rear links because the ones on there are plastic, winch mounting isn't great. But, it'll probably hit the comp tomorrow mostly as is.

Are those 2.2 wheels with 1.9's stretched on them? Clean purpose built rig.

Yep, 2.2 wheels! I run 1.9 tires on 2.2 wheels a lot, though on this one I think I'd prefer 1.9 wheels. This set of tires is kind of funky...the beads even when new were a little bigger than 1.9 and were next to impossible to mount on 1.9 wheels, so I just use 'em on 2.2 wheels.

Thanks!

Ok... Shocks, Traxxas? Modded for mini-t springs? Where did you get the mount for the Reef micro winch?

Lou

Thanks Lou!

Shocks are trx4 with mini-t springs...for now. I like them better than the Incision shocks the kit came with but I plan to swap something else on there. I just have better results from the big bores or Dravtechs. The mount for the micro winch is my design, printed from PLA+ filament. I made it to directly bolt into a normal servo mounting pattern, and I'm using the same thing on my current class 3 truck too.

These little winches are impressive. Had a comp today and didn't need to winch with the class 3 but with this truck I used it twice and it was fine. Ended up second in class one, 3 points behind first. I learned that I need to narrow up my track width a little, it's wide enough to be a disadvantage getting through class 1 gates. I kinda knew that was gonna be the case, but figured I should try it before dropping the money on some high offset wheels.

That’s great to hear!

I am running the dravtechs on my VS4-10.3. Mini t rear springs, firm in the rear with 35wt, med up front with 32.5wt... absolutely love the set up.

Super cool about the winch, I’m very interested for sure.

Cheers!

Lou

Nah, the controller is integrated into that little thing! Just plug into whichever channel you need on the rx. It's not a powerhouse winch of course, but for the size and weight its great. I did also test to see if it would deadlift this class 1 truck...it did. The truck weighs 6.9 lbs for what its worth.

That is actually pretty bad ass! Thanks again!
