Hope this doesn’t sound too noobish, have both the traxxas light kit and ESS Dual sound system and would like to run them both at the same time on my TRX4. Is this possible?

Yes, it's definitely possible.
I have a TRX4 Defender with the Traxxas light kit, combined with the MyTrickRC lighting controller, and an ESS Dual in there.

Generally speaking, I would think that the light kit just powers off of the Aux or Batt (or an extra unused channel) port on your Rx and the ESS system is probably just an inline connection on the throttle channel. But I've never hooked up a sound system in a crawler..

I'ts a pretty simple setup. The Traxxas light kit is completely ready to go out of the box. Just follow the instructions and you won't have any problems. It's been a while since I installed it, so I don't remember the exact details offhand, but it was easy.
The ESS sound system just plugged into the little red connector (JST?) coming off the Traxxas speed controller, and the signal wire for the ESS has a Y harness to connect to the receiver's speed control port.

Someone else just posted about this the other day. I'm running front and rear LED light bars and the ESS ONE engine sound system on my Losi Baja Rey. I don't see any reason that it wouldn't function on your TRX. The ESS system ties in to your ESC lead so that it knows what your trigger finger is doing and provides engine sound accordingly.

Splitters!!!

Especially with TRX light kit, as it uses BOTH a servo (receiver) connection AND the JST plug off the ESC. Uses the receiver connection to turn lights on/off with rig, uses the JST connection to take battery power to the lights (via an included voltage reducer). So that light kit taps the only 2 unused connections you have from factory. So splitters are truly your friend here.

Can use this one in your receiver - convenient cause you only have to open and reseal the watertight receiver box once -

Then, splitters for the JST plug

And splitters that switch from servo to JST -

Just about anything you need is out there somewhere "thumbsup"

Might look into the ess for my kyosho outlaw pro.

Mewalsh do you have any vid of that losi ripping around with ess going?

Shinchu - Dm me. I’ve got some start up clips of it. Phone recordings don’t do it justice tho. Sounds pretty bad ass at speed and rippin.

Thanks I checked out your Insta and looks like you sold it? Looked nice with that cage, steel-it is awesome stuff too. Nice work!
I might put sound in my kyosho but we shall see.
