Got some 2.2 Swampers wrapped on Losi Crawler wheels. Had to trim out the fenders a bit for clearance but followed the original shape. I have a Lever3-RC lift kit coming to add just a bit more clearance as well as 5-lbs of wheel weights to compensate for the increased COG. Also changed over to a Novak 55-turn for better crawling control. Man, you just can't beat the increased capability of 2.2 tires, these scale out to be around 55-inches tall!

Awesome truck! I recently got a Chevy body like this...Did you just paint the bed part black? I've been debating whether to paint it black, same color as the body or cut it out and incorporate the honcho cage
Thanks

Edit: Just noticed the link in your OP

the upgrade looks good. i have those same tires on mine and i am also running the level3 lift kit and they gave me the ride height i was looking for. you may have to play with the height when you put them on until you find the right height for your rig without it being to top heavy but that's the fun of it playing, rolling over and then getting it right lol

I painted the bed flat black on the outside. I also painted the entire interior black on the last coat. The Turquoise blue is a custom mix of Faskolors and airbrushed. I think I may mount a chrome Tamiya roll-bar in the bed for that old-school hi-roller look.

Yeah, I got my lift set one notch above the lowest setting and it's just right. I am in the process of putting extra weights in the wheels to counter the higher center of gravity.

I liked the looks of the truck better with the 1.9s myself. I thought that it looked awsome!

I know, I really liked that look too, but the giant 2.2 tires give you so much more capabilities! I will probably get another 80 Chevy body with un-cut fenders and switch it back once in a while. I don't know about anyone else, but I have half a dozen different bodies and tires I rotate every couple months.

IMO it looks way cleaner and more scale with 1.9's, but I'm definetely onboard with the capabilities of the 2.2's...... Great looking truck either way! Love the color! "thumbsup"
