Been try to get some info on the transmitter that comes with the trx4 kit.
It seem that some of the radio's you all get you can put a small lipo battery in it.
I was wondering if the same can be done with the traxxas TQi radio I can't seem to find a lipo battery for it.

The transmitter with trx4 kit, and all traxxas ground vehicles I believe, only uses 4 AA batteries. You can't use a lipo without modification.

Kind of thought that would be the case.
I will get a set of rechargeable batteries

I believe their drone remote might be the only one with an optional LiPo battery for the TX. I could be wrong though.

The new rechargeable batteries have much better shelf life then 10years ago. According to the packages any ways. shelf discharge rate? In a traxxas remote that's where most of the juice will go, into the shelf.
because the remote itself hardly uses any juice.

Even running standard AAs the TXs last quite a while. Especially if you take the batteries out any time you're not using it.

When reading post when most of you upgrade your radio's you all look for radio's that you can upgrade the batteries to a lipo type.
Was just in hopes of doing the same with the traxxas radio.
I got a Flysky Rc FS-GT5 for an optima this radio is overkill for this buggy since it only has steering and a cheap esc but it was cheap and I got a lipo battery for it. I would think traxxas would setup there radios to use lipo battery packs.
