TRX-4 Motor into Sport Kit

I'm converting my TRX-4 to a brushless setup, and grabbed a TRX-4 Sport kit to toss all the TRX-4 electronics/motor into. It appears both use the same 550 21T motor, but gearing is obviously different on the single speed vs. 2-speed transmission.

Poking around the forum, I see recommendations of the 45T spur and a 12T pinion to slow things down on the Sport - is that still a solid choice? I intend to grab a HH motor once the stock Traxxas motor goes TU, but for now I'd like to utilize what I've got.

45T/12T still a good call? All on 3S if that helps "thumbsup"

I run 9/45 gearing in my sport. Zero complaints.

I only slow crawl though. No trail rides or anything.

ETA - You definitely want the 45t spur gear.

I’d grab a few pinions and experiment.

The stock Sport gearing is definitely "something in between." It's too fast for proper slow crawling, and not fast enough for trailing. I run 12/45 in mine, but I built it with a 2-speed.
