The Trigger King R/C Mega Truck Series aims to bring the spirit and craziness of a Mega Truck event to a smaller scale. We ran a "test event" at the St. Louis RECON G6 in a hastily thrown together track and had a blast. With that behind us it's time to officially launch this style of r/c! Thank you so much to all the drivers who have already built vehicles or have them under construction. $hits gonna be wild.

The racing will be heads up "Chicago Style" round and round elimination on a two lane course filled with mud holes and jumps.

Mega Trucks are the star of the show, but we are also running a couple other classes. Outlaw vehicles will resemble Formula Off-Road / National Mud Racing Organization style paddle vehicles. The "stock truck" class will be for relatively stock scalers. Lastly we have the open class where anything can run, provided it's safe and will not damage the track.

Entrance Fee - $5

One 5$ entrance fee lets drivers register for unlimited classes. Each driver can run up to 2 vehicles in a class, but if the vehicles are required to race one another in a bracket the owner can either designate a driver to run one of the vehicles (with the winning truck advancing) OR pick which truck to advance. In the case of the latter scenario a bye run must still be made.

Event Rules and Format

Did Not Finish (DNF) - A driver will receive a DNF for leaving the designated course or for needing to marshall their vehicle. Vehicle touching is prohibited. You must drive smart as well as fast.

Qualifying - Drivers will be allowed to make a specified number of practice passes at an event (time allowing). They will then be forced to make a qualifying pass to receive a time which "seeds" them in a bracket and determines elimination pairings. Driver's that get DNF's or DQ's will be moved to the bottom of the bracket. If a driver breaks during practice he will receive a DQ qualifying time and be seeded at the bottom of the bracket for eliminations.

Elimination - After qualifying is complete, drivers will race in heads up elimination bracket racing until a winner is determined. Highest qualifier gets lane choice. If a winning driver cannot make the next round due to breakage then the previous "loser" will be brought back to take their spot. If both trucks DNF in a race the race will be rerun until there is a winner. If a driver cannot restart the race after a duel DQ it will be awarded to the truck that is still running.

Freestyle - After the racing portion of the event is over with, all Mega Trucks will be given 1:30 to for open freestyle on the track, one at a time. Freestyle will be judged collectively and the winner will receive a nice "Atta Boy" and/or a series of high fives.

Classes

Mega Truck - No motor limit. 4s lipo battery limit. Truck must have two solid axles and be shaft driven. Cut street tires legal but must be in the spirit of a 1:1 mega truck. They are around 2.75'' wide but are short. They are also cheap and easily available.
